    Well, now they're saying he was canned. A little surprising considering their offense made the Bears' defense look silly for the first quarter.

    The Cardinals promoted their QB coach to offensive coordinator, according to the ESPN ticker. The role of the former offensive coordinator is uncertain.

    That's not what he did at all and you know it. He was talking about a player's dedication to his team and teammates. Really? What exactly does any of that have to do with baseball aside from the decision to play or not? There was absolutely no reason to say any of that.

    Sure the gameplan and execution sucked, but I've got faith they'll use these two weeks to correct those mistakes. They bounced back from a bad game against Minnesota pretty well, after all.

    HFA is overrated. It may be overrated a bit, but I still think it's important. TV news:

    Yeah. There was a lot of talk about them going conservative, but they didn't stretch the field vertically all night. Passing over the middle of the field worked well for them to move the chains, but their success early on came on the ground and a lot of short passes with plenty of yards after the catch, which were partly a result of horrible tackling routes and a very ineffective linebacker corps.

    He didn't say anything wrong outside of all his stupid baseball talk. You really don't think his comments about Shawn Green were out of line? Nope, not at all, and I've so far heard from more than 10 jews who don't think so either. Nobody talked much about that statement until this firing, which tells me people are just reaching, which they clearly are, to justify an overly sensitive rationale. There was plenty of coverage of it back then. He didn't just say he should have played. It was bordering on anti-Semitism. I didn't hear him go off on Christians who don't go to church every week but observe Easter or Christmas. And I certainly didn't hear him talk about how Christmas is all about getting money and gifts. The money comment was jaw dropping. And not marrying a Jewish woman? I don't think I could have made that up. I wasn't aware that Lyons job was to tell us what being Jewish meant and to trash those who didn't meet his requirements.

    I'd love to hear Stone go on and on for 162 games about how great a pickup Cesar Izturis was.

    I don't see how any network could possibly justify keeping him on after his history of saying really, really stupid things. He should have been fired two years ago, but better late than never.
