  1. Hahah. What a three by Gordon as the shot clock expired! Bulls take a 55-46 lead into the locker room. Deng with 20 in the first half.
  2. However many people do no renew, that is how many are available. Right, but what I meant was how many season ticket holders do the Cubs allow there to be? As in, in a sold out game, how many people there are season ticket holders? I guess I could've worded that better. Season ticket holders are approximately half of the overall capacity. I believe it's just over 20,000.
  3. Soooo many blocked shots by Detroit... Oh, and I <3 Deng.
  4. How do you allow three straight uncontested dunks?
  5. Man. That fast break layup by Wallace or the follow by Deng would've been really nice. Nocioni and Deng are off to very nice starts. Wallace is making his presence felt, as well.
  6. Nice little run here to go up 16-10 early.
  7. This feels like a Reds radio broadcast. The PBP guy is 5 seconds behind the action at all times at best.
  8. There sure is a lot of booing for injured players by the Colts fans today.
  9. Wow. Great play by play recently. "And that one is...........................intercepted?"
  10. Lovie looked ready for a nap. I can't say I blame him.
  11. Any truth to the rumors that there's a national championship game still to be played? I assumed they already finished.
  12. Well the Chiefs really blew that chance.
  13. He did something against the law. He was given a warning and an opportunity to move his car without as much as a ticket. He was arrested. He is an idiot.
  14. Sigh. Northwestern outplays Michigan and gets a double digit loss to show for it. They blew way too many chances under the basket, but the missed fastbreak layup by Nash that would have made it a 4 point game with 3 minutes left was the killer. They just blew it down the stretch. But that's what happens when you only shoot 32%. Aside from the expected offensive rebounds, NU's defense played pretty well. Certainly better than Michigan's (I believe both of Michigan's 2 steals came on unforced loose balls). As did the offense. They had quite a lot of good cuts inside, but just couldn't finish at all. Way too afraid to go up strong.
  15. Daisuke or Drew. Nobody else would be even close.
  16. But that's just the record. What really matters is HR totals throughout the league. The most alarming jump was between 1992 and 1993, when the same player (Juan Gonzalez) lead the league in HRs both years with 43 and 46 respectively. Not much of a difference at the top, but more and more players were going from HR totals in the teens to into the 20s. In addition to the factors that were already posted, power is valued more now than ever before. That means that not only will players focus more on developing that power, but those whose best skill is power are more likely to play in the majors.
  17. The new ball wasn't going to make it easier to score. Getting it through the basket still required the same amount of skill. And the whole change was rather public. HR totals: AL NL MLB Year 1,796 1,521 3,317 1990 1,953 1,430 3,383 1991 1,776 1,262 3,038 1992 2,074 1,956 4,030 1993 1,774 1,532 3,306 1994 2,164 1,917 4,081 1995 2,742 2,220 4,962 1996 2,477 2,163 4,640 1997 2,496 2,568 5,064 1998 2,635 2,893 5,528 1999 2,688 3,005 5,693 2000 2,506 2,952 5,458 2001 2,464 2,595 5,059 2002 2,499 2,708 5,207 2003 2,605 2,846 5,451 2004 2,437 2,580 5,017 2005 1998 was basically the same as 1996. And by no means was '98 the high point. If they used a "juiced ball" in '98, it didn't have much of an effect. The whole thing looks pretty baseless.
  18. Yup. Lovie has been quite happy with how the practices have been going and said he felt the need to get back into pads and go at it like it was training camp.
  19. Yeah, because blowing an 18-0 start is totally the fault of the officials. I'm sure Hinrich's layup and the goaltending were part of the 18-0 start. Oh, wait. My only point is this, if you start out like that, you shouldn't even be in that situation to begin with. Lots of things had to go wrong, not just the final minute of the game. Check the post made two down from the one you quoted.
  20. The Bulls blow another one. They really looked quite bad down the stretch. Sigh.
  21. Royal screwjob. They miss an incredibly obvious foul on Hinrich's layup attempt and then call Wallace on a non-goal tending on the putback. Thanks, refs...
  22. Hinrich and Gordon have made some rather costly mistakes down this stretch, and Ben just came in. And now they can't hit any free throws. This is going to be a real tough loss to swallow.
  23. Some rather piss poor offense and a bad call or two later and the Bulls trail by 1 with a minute left.
  24. What is Hinrich doing under the boards right now? I mean aside from giving New Jersey possession.
  25. What a baseline move and reverse by Deng.
