  1. Illinois probably will not pay the money it costs to host a game in the CBI. Since they don't have a coach, who can blame them.
  2. cause it's a great story? it WAS a great story. now he's just an okay player if people like him, great. i just don't understand the people who are relishing his failures or are upset that he's padding his stats He's a pretty good player. His PER is higher than Wall and Rubio.
  3. cause it's a great story?
  4. Northwestern dropping to NIT range and Minnesota possibly remaining in NIT range takes two spots away though. There's always the CBI.
  5. Minnesota just showed the world why you always want to shoot a buzzer beater in a tie ballgame.

  7. Well, you did say "tie"
  8. I wonder how many times a team went through an entire game without attempting even one free throw.
  9. Lin ended with a nice game tonight. But top PGs are top PGs for a reason.
  10. I seriously cannot believe there's a worse team in the Pac 12 than Utah.
  11. That was so so so nasty.
  12. Best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=IExTQXBOqsE
  13. Yeah, they nailed a lot of little touches. Little Bartman shout-out, too. Where was Bartman in this commercial?
  14. At this rate, are Illinois's NIT hopes fading?
  15. An OT win is a convincing win?
  16. JUST ONE MORE BUCKET
  17. Derrick Rose is straight up punking the Sixers. I went to one of the few Bulls home losses last year, and it was against the Sixers. Payback feels so sweet...
  18. This hurts Northwestern A LOT Why? Any team ahead of Northwestern in at-large discussions that loses won't hurt Northwestern.
  19. Somebody get him a red nose and a squirting flower.
  20. Those two players are not equivalent as shooters, let's be real. As a Bull, Kerr shot .491, .524 (!), .515 (!), .464, and .438 percent from 3-point range (on at least 124 attempts each season). I love Steve Kerr but I have to point out 2 things: 1) That first year as a Bull he shot .419, not .491 2) the 2nd-4th years as a Bull (.524, .515, .464) the 3 point line was moved in, and multiple players shot over 50% from 3. His career percentage during those 3 years was exactly .500%. Outside of those 3 years, his career percentage was .424 The 3-point line during those 3 years was only moved in at the top of the key, so the 3 point distance was uniform all around the basket. The corner 3-point shots remained the same distance.
  21. Obviously the issue here is the chain of custody -- who was in possession of the sample when. The arbitrators must have decided that in terms of the potential for the sample being tampered with or becoming contaminated, there's a difference between it sitting in a sealed FedEx package, in FedEx's possession, and sitting in this guy's fridge where who knows who has access to it. Setting aside the Braun vitriol, I would hope we could all agree that having a urine sample sitting for days in some dude's fridge between collection and analysis is not a very wise testing protocol. It's not very wise testing protocol, but synthetic testosterone just doesn't appear out of nothing. Braun's entire defense hinges on his sample being contaminated by the collector. But ... there is absolutely no suspicion of this at all. What's the collector's motive contaminating the sample? Are there any rumors of the collector being untrustworthy at all?
  22. Here's something on my mind that I don't think anybody has talked about yet: Even if the collector dropped the sample off late Saturday night at Fedex, it probably would not have been actually shipped until Monday. It all depends on the timing of the Fedex truck that picks up packages at that specific Fedex location. Perhaps the collector knew that he was too late for the Saturday pickup and thought the sample was better off sitting in his fridge than in some Fedex location for 2 days? That sounds pretty reasonable to me.
  23. Well, there was that Tebow-esque performance. Pretty bad for 3 quarters, but a stellar 4th quarter and solid defense led to him making the winning shot.
  24. I'm not sure how you can call a 20 pt, 8 assist, 6 rebound performance not very good 8-24 is bad. 20 points on 24 shots is bad. his total numbers looked good because every play was through him. i mean, i don't know how you could call 20 points on 24 shots and 6 turnovers for 8 assists a good game. Yea he had a pumped up line. If you play 40 minutes and everything runs through you, and get up 24 shots almost every NBA guard can get a line like hat. John Lucas included. I said it because while espn will focus in on the game winning free throw and the 20 8 and 8, the fact is I believe his lack of talent showed last night and will continue to. Well, Lin has had 4 great games and 1 good game where he didn't shoot a high percentage and turned the ball over a lot. Now that Melo and Amare are back, I don't expect Lin to score all that much. Probably between 10-15 ppg. He should still be able to get around 8 apg. I just hope people recognize this and don't see a steep dropoff in points scored as Lin coming back down to earth. What would be really telling is if Lin can limit his turnovers from here on out. However, I do believe that some of his turnovers are caused by him having to shoulder a lot of the scoring responsibility and playing very aggressively driving to the hoop. Fatigue probably played a factor as well. We shall see.
