You know damn well that's not true. There's always PLENTY of chance that a team IN FIRST PLACE will make the playoffs.A 43% chance in fact: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/statistics/ps_odds.php
Aaron Miles was on a rehab assignment. Numbers are not his primary focus for what he was trying to do down there. You gotta get your strength back. You have to get your timing back. What was his primary focus when he was on the big league roster earlier this year? LOL, ok I see what you mean. Who knows, maybe his time down in the minors helped his confidence and helped him work things out in a low pressure environment? I hope he comes up and hits .300 like he did last year.

In 52 IP, he has 49 BB, 3 IBB, 10 HPB, and 29 hits. No matter how you slice it, that is not good and I reckon there's somebody in the minors that can do better than allowing close to 2 guys on base for every 3 outs they record.
He never used to be, though. I always wanted the Cubs to trade for him at the deadline. He was one of my favorite non-Cub pitchers for a while. He was great until Dusty starting forcing him to throw 120+ pitches every start. He's thrown 120 or more pitches three times under dusty. Once last year and twice this year. Dusty did let him throw 4 innings in an extra inning game after he started a game 3 days ago. He hasn't been the same since.
If Theriot was on a rival team, I'm sure I'd hate him too. If Theriot were on a rival team I'd constantly forget he even existed. I forget he exists and he's on my team.
