The Padres have acquired Morgan Ensberg from the Astros, ESPN's Buster Olney reports. Ensberg, Rob Mackowiak, Scott Hairston... we hope the Padres realize they're only allowed to carry 25 players at a time. Adding both Ensberg and Mackowiak seems to show how they don't have a lot of faith in Kevin Kouzmanoff.

A source told FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal, that the talks between the White Sox and Red Sox regarding Jermaine Dye are dead. It's believed Boston offered Wily Mo Pena and Craig Hansen. Dye seems unlikely to be dealt to another team. The White Sox could attempt to re-sign him for two or three years.

Roto The Red Sox and Rangers have agreed to an Eric Gagne deal, pending Gagne waiving his no-trade clause, sources told FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal. It's very possible that Gagne will block the deal, though the Red Sox could try to sway him by guaranteeing the remainder of his $3.625 million bonuses for games finished. Rosenthal doesn't say who will go the other way, though David Murphy and Kason Gabbard keep getting mentioned. Joaquin Benoit could close for Texas until Akinori Otsuka returns.
