    The Score 670 Chicago reports that the White Sox are close to acquiring John Lannan from the Nationals. It's unknown just who the Chicago would be sending over in the deal, but this is Jim Bowden we're dealing with so anything is possible. Lannan is arbitration eligible through 2013, and he can keep the ball on the ground, which would make him a nice fit in Chicago.

    ESPN's Jayson Stark said an official with one of the clubs said the three-team Red Sox-Marlins-Pirates deal is dead. According to Stark's source: "The Pirates are blaming the Marlins. The Marlins are blaming the Pirates. And the Red Sox aren't too happy with either of them." We fully expect another update five minutes from now saying a deal is nearly done.

    Roto The Yankees and Red Sox are both in on Scott Eyre, according to ESPN's Jayson Stark. The Cubs are willing to move him and probably aren't asking for a lot. Still, he's not any team's preferred option for a lefty specialist. That's why he's available in the first place. Source: ESPN.com

    Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that Ken Griffey Jr. has accepted a trade to the White Sox. According to CBSSports.com, the Reds will receive Danny Richar and Nick Masset while paying the remaining $4 million on Griffey's contract. Richar has seen his stock decline this year after playing 56 games with the White Sox last season, spending the entire year at Triple-A while hitting just .262/.321/.427. Masset has a 5.63 career ERA in 92 2/3 innings spent mostly as a reliever, but the Reds may view him as a potential fourth or fifth starter long term. Have fun with that in CF...I'd get rid of Konerko if I was KW..What are they gonna do with the log jam of Swisher,Thome,Konerko,Griffey? Corners are set

How about he just plain sucks..Looks like were gonna blow quite a few more games tis year..

    ESPN's Keith Law reports that the Angels have acquired Casey Kotchman and Stephen Marek from the Braves for Mark Teixeira. Kotchman has reportedly been pulled off the field after going out to warm up for Tuesday's game. The Angels get a nice upgrade here, but they're giving up a 25-year-old with room to improve for just two months of an at least somewhat overrated first baseman. Marek was also one of their top prospects. A move to the pen this year has him looking like a potential closer.

    Bob Howry has a 12.60 ERA since the all-star break..How is this piece of trash still on the team? How is management that stupid to let him pitch in crucial situations and just still being on this team??
