  1. OK, the Cardinals never play this dumb. I have to watch them all the time and they're never as bad as they've been against the Cubs this year. Mental and physical mistakes all over the place. They can't handle the pressure of playing a team the caliber of the 2006 Chicago Cubs.
  2. Grounder to Eckstein throws high to third....Pagan in at third.
  3. It could set things up for another Cubs' brawl on a Saturday FOX game.
  4. The real story! He looks like a ballerina. Ty Cobb's ghost is going to shoot you for that. Hopefully he's innebriated and his aim is off.
  5. Ron Santo going on about how Dave Otto is a goodlooking man.
  6. That Devil Rays dugout is going to interesting to see in a few years. Tampa is team with some good young talent right now. I would definitely consider trading a at least two of the three(Upton, Dukes, Young).
  7. Seriously dude, this is unnecessary. It's obnoxious and troll-like. No one was talking about Hill vs. Marmol and Marshall in here. You brought it up. Please knock it off. Thanks you!
  8. I occasionally read the some of the posts at gatewayredbirds.com, but I don't have an account set up. That's a pretty good message board for Cards fan and very welcoming to the Cubs fans I see posting there. That being said, from posts I've read a lot of the posters there feel sorry for what Cubs' fans are through in regards to this season. And there overall impression seems rather split.......some like the park and atmosphere while other call it a dump and make it a point to use the word "urine" in their critique. Also, the Dodger message board(the name is alluding me right now) is great for a good laugh. They're crude and take prisoners in the process.
  9. 7-3 4-2 against the Mets too. This team is completely befuddling. The Cubs went 3-3 against the Mets losing the first series 2-1 and winning the second 2-1.
  10. Dusty most likely will, but what does it say about the organization as whole when that is the list.
  11. My earliest recollection of watching Cubs' baseball was the 1980 team. Here is a list of Cub managers since 1980: Preston Gomez Joey Amalfitano Lee Elia Charlie Fox Jim Frey John Vukovich(only 2 games) Gene Michael Frank Lucchesi Don Zimmer Joe Altobelli(1 game) Jim Essian Jim Lefebvre Tom Trebelhorn Jim Riggleman Don Baylor Rene Lachmann(only 1 game) Bruce Kimm Dusty Baker(current) I find it amazing that not one of these mangers has been hired as a MLB manager elsewhere after their managerial stint with the Cubs. Have any of these men been in the running for a MLB managerial job after the Cubs? It might be possible that some just wanted to coach, but I'm sure some of them would have liked to continue as head honcho in the dugout. I would be curious to know if there are any other MLB teams that have had this many managers since 1980. It would be nice to see a competent manager(and front office) that could be around for more than just a few years. This team needs some stability and the problem I fear is that the current Cubs' regime recognizes this and wants Dusty and company to be that stability.
  12. This statement is so stupid on so many levels it boggles my mind. It might be beyond stupid. Why is it stupid? Cedeno is over-matched here, it's not even funny. Neifi, this year, is hitting better and plays better defense so why not play him over Cedeno right now? Keep off the Cedeno train; he's an average fielder in a huge slump. So you want the Cubs to play Neifi over Cedeno right now because you want the Cubs to win more games in a lost season and not allow Cedeno to attempt to work through his struggles?
  13. He could be player of the game....RBI, run scored, and solid defense.
  14. Wow.....those kids were taunting Duncan as he came back to the dugout.
  15. Well, since Shawon Dunston who have the Cubs produced(position player wise)? Mark Grace Rafael Palmeiro Joe Girardi Who else? I do think that it both organizational and the current regime. The organization has a bad track record and will continue to do so under the teachings of Baker and company(i.e aggressiveness). Matt Murton is the perfect example of this.
