He threw in the mid 90's in high school. I doubt he'll be able to reach that again, but the Padres have to salvage something. Was this the worst #1 pick in professional sports over the last 10 years? Depends on how you view it. In terms of talent, there's a good argument that he is. However, compared to the contracts #1 overall picks in other sports compared to him, I'd say probably not. Some other candidates to consider... Kwame Brown (NBA) Michael Olowokandi (NBA) Bryan Bullington (MLB) Josh Hamilton (MLB, Arguable) David Carr (NFL) Courtney Brown (NFL) Tim Couch (NFL) Going back a little bit......Pervis Ellison.

I don't think it's a big deal, he's not going to come out and say "Our bullpen really blows." He's going to say optimistic things, obviously. On the other side of town, both Kenny Williams and Ozzie are saying their pen stinks. Ozzie also got ejected today. They blew a 3-0 lead..its 4-3 Jays :) Now they've lost by that same count. Their offense went 1-66 against bullpen arms on their road trip. Holy crap are you serious? wow Really? Wow! On the post game show, Bill Melton and Chuck Garfein are talking about how the Sox should be looking forward to seeing the Yankees' bullpen.
