Well, the Padres just got swept by the Mariners so who knows? The Padres bullpen was surprisingly leaky during that series... Honestly no team scares me in the NL. We match up with anyone. We should've beat them last series if it wasn't for our pen. Every team has their faults. I could be wrong here, but I believe it would be Weaver's turn in the rotation for the Mariners and I would hope the Cubs could jump on him. Unless he gets pushed back based on his back injury yesterday.

Go Cubs! Beat the 'stros. By the way, I have a choice of tickets for Thursday's game against the Mariners or Friday versus the Padres. Which would you choose? I took the Thursday Mariners' game. But, I still have time to change my mind and switch. My thinking is that I'm afraid the Padres' pitching will just shut down the Cubs.

Forget that. The Cubs blew it in the top of the eighth. Bases loaded, no outs and the Cubs get no runs. That shouldn't happen. and a fricken lazer beam right at the third baseman. that's not lack of ability, that's lack of luck. Yeah this time, the fact remains that situation happens to the Cubs a lot. this conversation is not about the state of the Cubs, it is about this game. True. But, the state of the Cubs seems to parallel each individual game. I'm depressed.

1st inning. Struck out two batters and then hit renteria. There was no pregame warning, so we're mad. Plus Lou didn't get pissed. Then during the next AB, Renteria stole 2b and slammed into fontenot as revenge, but didn't get ejected. When we listened to what was said, the ump said, "I knew he was going to throw it." Oh, and Renteria left the game with a contusion in his arm/hand. Glad I missed this. Plus Raisin's new sig says a lot.

Sorry guys, Just got in. Can I get a quick recap if possible. Cliff notes version. As far as I know, Lilly hit Renteria and was kicked out. What inning? Who relieved? How did the relief do? I'm trying to follow Morgan & Miller at the moment, but their not providing quote enough info thus far. Thanks

Indeed. I'd rather they win the game. If we are ahead by quite a bit throw at him. The Braves managed to do both last night. It's not mutually exclusive. The Cubs through Jacque got little pay back on Hudson. But, I guess that is bound to happen at some point considering that when he actually hits the ball it is directly at someone.

I was just about to post the same thing. It makes sense considering he was a standout player at CSF. On a side note, I like how Irvine's away uniforms say "Eaters" across the front.
