  1. becasue when we score, the pitching decides its time to fail
  2. perez i really hate you when you do this to me, why cant you just suck all the time
  3. 2 walks in 1 innings, this has to be some sort of record
  4. arguablly the best player ever was fat
  5. Baker wont be fired untill at least the all star break, Hendry has said that he will give baker the chance to turn this around with a healthy team. Lee will be back in about 2 week (possibly), Prior will be back just after that (who really knows though). the cubs will have to show some life between the time those 2 come back and the all star break, otherwise Baker is gone. The injury excuse wont be able to be used once they are back and then Hendry and macphail will have to look at baker. However if the cubs start winning series after the 2 big names come back, Baker will likely be extended at the all star break. in other words, it might not mean the season but june is a huge month in terms of what the cubs will do with baker. at this point i actually want to see what he can do, we were a decent team before Lee's injury and while lee wont be the lee of 2005 right away, it will force other teams to make adjustments.
  6. [/b]was the biggest crowd at Wrigley since 41,052 showed up for a doubleheader against the Reds on July 22, 1979 http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-060527cubsgamer,1,4733766.story?coll=cs-home-headlines
  7. At Wrigley today? thats what the reporters asked in the post game news conference
  8. this has happened before the guy gets the vote of confidence, it only gets worse the guy gets fired
  9. Zito is not worth the money he's going to command in the offseason. I would stay away from him at all costs. well if we trade Wood, we wouldn't have to pick up his outrageous $13.5 million option. We could use most of that money for Zito. Zito hasn't put together a full good year since his Cy Young in 2002. He hasn't gotten injured, which I guess makes him better than Wood and Prior, but he's alreayd making $7.9 mil this year. He is not worth the $10+ mil per year he's going to get next year. he would be better than Prior and Wood going on the DL and we getting great pitching from Hill and Guzman
  10. Zito has a 3.10 ERA, he would be playing in a new league so that would give him a slight advantage early
  11. i understand what you are saying but no one would do that deal Willis has sucked this year anyways
  12. lets get rid of the guy who threw 6+ innings of no hit ball today That 6+ innings obviously helped win the game. Seriously though, I like Z but right now this team is soooooo bad if we could make a deal to improve it I don't care who is involved. He'd be one of the last ones I'd want to see go, but I don't think anyone is untouchable. i dont see how getting rid of the best hitter in the league last year and a young pitcher who has fantastic stuff makes you better. If it were for Cabrerra and Willis or someone like that, it could. no way, willis has sucked, id trade almost anyone else for caberra though Lee and Zambrano are off limits
  13. Not everything. Lee, Zambrano, Marshall(unless we can get Tejeda or Abreu in a deal invloving him) Barrett, Ramirez, Cedeno, Murton, Howry, Eyre, Dempster, Speier(Only real coach on this team), Prior(same with Marshall) I disagree. Maybe Lee and Zambrano can stay, I like them, but honestly, for the right deal, I'd let them go too...it sure as heck ain't working now. lets trade Lee for, Beckett, Ortiz and Manny Ramariez, throw in poppleborn also thank god you arent the GM Cause I could possibly produce worse results than the current one? well seeing Zambrano has 3 of the cubs 4 last wins, id say yes
