  1. you're thinking of back2banks I've complimented the FO when they have made a good move. Unlike many posters, I don't throw around compliments just because it's "our" FO making the move. Something like making a good deal to get Turner or Hamels would be worthy of a compliment. i can't tell if this is sincere or another one of his half-baked troll jobs
  2. i just kind of watched with no reaction and then when they sped it back up i lmao what a dufus
  3. lol, yes very sad that the difference in viewership between these two things was less than one percent of the population of the us nevermind that ratings numbers are flawed at best and arguably entirely useless
  4. what kind of alive, reasonable person thinks this is not two words???

  7. you guys may hate it but it's probably the best double-wide ptr has ever had
  8. Everyone here is terrible and nobody likes anybody. i could see how you would think that
  9. HOW IS THIS NOT A NATIONALLY TELEVISED GAME?!?!? ugh, i've gotta watch this [expletive] in substandard definition ffs smh mfer
  10. It's going to be just one big [expletive] wave. title wave
  11. lol "whoever mentioned hogan" did it like two posts before yours
  12. come on the "you gotta think more" at ss is nonsense. it's all reaction and situational awareness of the same degree in the if, let's not pretend that there's some magic thinky sauce that separates ss from 3b i think he means that there are far fewer slower developing plays to 3B. balls that go that way are hit harder more often. i have no idea if this is necessarily true but it certainly seems intuitive. i think that's probably true just as a function of distance from the plate, whether or not the balls are hit harder (i doubt they are, on average). what i disagree with is the notion of the fast-twitch play as starlin's strength edit: wrigleyfield22 beat me to it
  13. come on the "you gotta think more" at ss is nonsense. it's all reaction and situational awareness of the same degree in the if, let's not pretend that there's some magic thinky sauce that separates ss from 3b stepping into the throw... that gives me the questions. do we know what % of balls are successfully fielded to a ss's left or right? i'd assume that hit data could be used to know this but i've never explored. time to find out i guess

  15. not really; it could just be that his deficiencies would be exasperated by getting closer to the plate and farther from 1b
  16. as russell ages, the less of a gap between him and castro at SS, yet the opposite is likely true for 3b. castro is merely a liability at ss; he'd be a [expletive] show at 3b. if it were just a matter of one over the other at ss than yes, you're right. unfortunately, someone who is not kris bryant is going to have to play 3b and it absolutely should not be castro
  17. not if you want to field the best defense possible
  18. my guess is barring trades, the if ends up like: russell - 5 castro - 6 baez - 4 rizzo - 3 all bets are off depending on the trade, but lets just hope bryant doesn't have to be our everyday 3b in like four years
  19. not that i can think of, but i'd guess it's something like baez, almora, and some AA or lower pitcher
  20. because there's a good chance that none of them will ever be as good as stanton, and if you can get stanton for probably not stanton, you do it 10x out of 10 Yeah but if all three end up as busts the farm team is still stacked enough to trade for him -and none of them need to be "as" good as Stanton - if they were closer to competing I think I'd be more on board - I'd wait a year at least and see what develops. what? that makes no sense. there is a 100% chance that at least one of the fab five don't meet their "potential". there is no incentive to wait to find out which one(s) that is, and every reason to turn hope into an actual major leaguer. and i don't know why you're hung up on competing next year, the deal would have to be done with an extension otherwise it's a non-starter
