    I'd rather have Jacque than the IF's well, but only one IF on the bench is not a particularly great situation. If you demote Cedeno for example and then need another IF when one or 2 of the IF's have nagging injuries, what are you going to do? An OF has to go pretty soon, and even though Jacque adds something to this team he may just be the odd man out. So we'd stick with 4 OF's? or can ward play OF in the end of games if need be?

    Brewers up on Pitt 1-0 bottom 4. Houston up on Cinci 4-1 mid 5. Although we'd lose 1/2 game to milwaukee, we'd be tied for 2nd place in the division if the games turn out like they are right now.

    Getting back to the issue of the thread, Jones is at his highest value right now, after the game where he was a homer(?) short of the cycle. I don't think many of you guys agree with me, but I don't want to trade jones. I think that cedeno, izturis, blanco, ward, and murton/floyd is a terrible bench. I'd rather have jacque on the bench than any of the infielders, especially if we aren't going to get much for him.

    isn't it usually the pitcher's advantage when the hitters have never seen him before. Also, Theriot and Pie should start tomorrow. The pitcher has never gotten them out. :lol:

    I'm so mad I missed the game and a third today. That'sawesome tho how well Marquis is doing and hopfully the offense can keep it up. Go Cobs!

    You forgot...we didn't sign him for one year like we should have...he's already signed for 3....Hendry was ahead of you. He's a smart man... He's one step ahead of us. He saw the future when he had his heart scare. then why didn't he do something about no clutch hitting and bad bullpen? eyre would have been long gone.

    Does it seem to anybody else that the opposing team figures our hitters out as the game goes on? It just feels that there have been a bunch of games when the Cubs score a few runs early in the game then get shut down for the final 6 or 7 innings. you are right
