  1. I'll move it here. Rants is a poor place for it.
  2. I initially read that as "McCreary" and thought there was a lot more coincidence to that story.
  3. Yeah, I wouldn't be cool with games starting at 4 pm here. I already risk missing the start of 5:30 pm games and that's with a really light commute after work. Bah...you have a dvr I'm sure.
  4. Oh sure, you gotta top my Florida trip...damn you Bob!
  5. Ok, fair enough. I'm ok with Friday and Saturday night games. I think I could get behind other night games if they'd start them about an hour and a half earlier.
  6. Football is for Saturday and Sunday afternoons. All night games are lame, no matter what night they're played.
  7. Yup. Still rocking the Cutler throwback from that game. I've got a Hester one....it's been gameday jersey all season. Where'd you get the Hester one. I've been looking for one but can't find it. My bro got it for me as a very belated Xmas present. I'll try to find out where he got it.

  9. There's already been a story in the local paper about Illinois State University's guidelines, and policies regarding these types of things. I expect there will be similar ones around the country.

  11. If you look at the Wild Card %s, though, the Bears have the upper hand by a lot. The Falcons and Saints are above them in overall playoff percentage because one of them will win the division, whereas the Bears have basically no chance to win the North. Bears are in a pretty good spot. Win on Sunday and they'll be in a really good spot. Ah yeah, that makes more sense.
  12. It's interesting that 7 NFC teams have a 60% or higher chance at the playoffs. Obviously one team will defy the odds there.
  13. sure, let them transfer the players honestly don't matter, this is beyond them or football. this is beyond the rabid fans who want psu to win at any cost. justice for the players is irrelevant. Yep. Innocent bystanders, but can't be helped. Consider them unintended victims of the larger crime.
  14. ESPN has the Bears ranked #9 this week. The Lions are #6. Fine. But the interesting thing is that 2 of the 5 voters have the Bears ranked higher than the Lions. Oh, and John Clayton wrote the little blurb for the poll, and was nice enough, but he had the Bears ranked 14th and the Eagles 15th. He's also a much bigger believer in Cincy than the others. http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcwest/post/_/id/50848/nfl-power-rankings-how-they-voted-7
  15. My comment was definitely from limited viewing. Rivers played great against GB when they were down big and GB was playing prevent. But as soon as it got close, and GB started playing with some intensity, Rivers got all happy feet and "oh god, they're coming, I'm gonna chuck it out there."
  16. Manningham and Miller One of: S. Holmes vs NE Crabtree vs NYG B. Lloyd @ Cle I'm leaning toward Holmes cuz he had 60yds and a TD in NE in week 5.
  17. I'm looking forward to it due more to the fact that Rivers is averaging almost two picks a game. Have at it DJ Moore. Rivers really panics under pressure.
  18. I don't think so. There is almost an inevitability that you will have a chance to put him in there later. It's not a desperate need right now, and while it might be a somewhat cowardly stance, I'd rather not upset the apple cart. They are playing well and you might as well reward them by keeping it going. Yeah, that's the way I'm leaning. If he was able to go last night and was 100%, I was more than willing to throw him in there. But 3 games in a row is a trend. And honestly, Spencer has looked good enough at RG to keep in there (though he seems to have 1-2 really bad plays per game...see Babin late hit near goaline last night), and Louis has looked like a natural at RT. He's holding his own in the pass game and has been wonderful in the run game, most of the yards last night came to the right, other than the big Forte cutback run, which a big gain was there on the right side if he stuck with the play. Like you said, there will be injuries and Carimi will get in there. Worst case scenario, you get him in on the goalline as an extra blocker now then you start him from scratch next year. So funny that now we don't have room for Carimi to come back to.
  19. It's not really all THAT shocking though. No Manning, mediocre Pats....meh. it's not at all shocking. I'm assuming he was being sarcastic. I mean, I'm sure that NBC thought that was one that was a lock when they scheduled it.
  20. That Bears/Lions game is completely meaningless.

  22. We'll find out if the O-line is as good as they looked yesterday.
  23. Patriots cut Albert Haynesworth. Ha.

  25. So, the previous deadline was last Tuesday...so the new deadline should be today, yes?
