  1. Yeah, we've talked about it in the Olympics thread.
  2. Yowch.
  3. Ha! The Jets are coming unraveled. They had 3 more fights today, between Rex Ryan cursing them out... http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/8242901/rex-ryan-rips-new-york-jets-another-camp-scuffle
  4. Huh, sure enough... http://sports.yahoo.com/news/olympics--abby-wambach-s-brains-proved-to-be-big-assist-to-u-s--women-s-soccer-s-comeback-against-canada.html
  5. Doesn't seem over the top at all to me. You don't think it's over the top to accuse the referee of fixing the game? I don't think it was an accusation of fixing as much as it was an accusation of the ref being awful and ruling favorably for the US, which seems to me to be how futbol people react to poor officiating all the time. If the calls were the exact opposite I think many US fans would be outraged by how much effort appeared to go into trying to get Canada the tying goal. I don't have any problem with her being upset over the call. That's justifiable. Maybe my inexperience with the futbol atmosphere had me reading more into it.

  7. I know that it was a huge loss, and there's a lot of bitter feelings going on, and there was a controversial call, but this is a bit over the top, imo.
  8. Mike Martz joins Fox Sports as an analyst. http://www.csnchicago.com/football-chicago-bears/bears-talk/Martz-joins-Fox-Sports-as-game-analyst-?blockID=752489&feedID=10330
  9. I'm sure I've seen that pic around here before....probably during the Prince thread over the winter.
  10. Ha...that was pretty good.
  11. "Like" 5 months ago? It's August 6th. He got hurt 7 months ago. Sore knees are going to happen but missing multiple practices for health reasons is disconcerting for an aging football player. Yeah ok, math is hard.
  12. Yeah, that was quite the call. Not necessarily wrong, but quite a gutsy call to make in that game.
  13. It's training camp. 5 weeks to the regular season, and he tore his mcl/acl like 5 months ago. A sore knee is probably gonna happen.
  14. Haha...people I work with give me crap for being so interested in women's soccer, but damn if this team isn't fun as hell to watch. At least it's not until Thursday.
  15. Man our Dline is gonna get us in trouble this year. For years, Peppers has been getting tag teamed without much help. That's a different depth chart from what's on the Bears website. I'd imagine the website is more accurate. Has a lot of differences including OL, LBs, DE, DB http://www.chicagobears.com/team/PreseasonDepthChart.asp Yes. Williams as the LT and RT backup sounds more on line with what they're saying.
  16. Funny thing is that Hoyer pretty specifically said to Mully and Hanley on the Score that Dempster did listen in, and he used those words unprompted. Also, I'm not sure who the guest was this morn, but they said that from what they understand, Ted Lilly was telling Dempster the whole way that the Dodgers really wanted him, and that was why Dempster kept holding off.
  17. He was a FA last year, and only signed a 1-year deal with Detroit. The Bears basically picked up Sam Hurd, in what they thought would be an upgrade, instead of re-signing Davis. He's 33 now, and he was available because he's not a very good player. Kinda sucks if he makes the roster over Sanzenbacher, though he does have the special teams advantage. Yeah, I think it's the ST thing that makes the difference here. That's where the Bears thought Devin Thomas would help. Sanzenbacher doesn't really contribute a lot there. It's TC...might as well see if Davis still has something.
  18. Welcome back I guess? EDIT: All over twitter now. Davis is really excited. Signed about an hour ago.
  19. She's apparently not the nicest young lady in the world. Based on? People who have dealt with her this week? She didn't seem to be a very gracious loser last night. She was upset. What should she have done that she didn't do? She hugged the girl that beat her...
  20. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-0806-bears-chicago--20120806,0,993210.story My guess is that this article was written specifically to discuss Hub's "theory", even if Hub isn't mentioned by name. The internet probably started asking Brad a lot of questions, and it seemed like a good article topic. I still don't see any reason for Williams to get cut. None.
  21. Hub is [expletive]. There's no reason to cut Williams. If absolutely nothing else, he's depth.
  22. He's got a 6 figure pension, he'll have to live like a normal person instead of a rich guy, but his family will be fine. Depends on the outcomes of some of the lawsuits though.
  23. I read that whole article, and I'm not laughing anymore. Schilling was completely irresponsible, and while I feel sorry for his family, I don't feel sorry for him at all. What a disaster.
