    So, it looks like there's a good chance that this game tonight is gonna be a rainy, sloppy mess.

    Sounds like he's got his pick. I wonder why we couldn't get a 6th/7th round pick for him? Despite him not dressing for us there is obvioulsy something of a market for him. The other possibility is that he worked out for those teams and they didn't want him.

    When did Berthume leave ESPN? Has to be fairly recent, no? They aren't officially announcing the pairing until Monday so that Berthume can work at ESPN through the weekend.

    There's a good chance this job won't come open again for quite a while, so if you want Kerry in there, now is the time. I don't see the risk in throwing him into the fire. What's he gonna do? Screw up the announcing for a 100 loss team? Oh no. He's still young. If its another Brenly that spends 8-10 years here, he'll be what, 45? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Steve Stone was in the Cubs booth for 21 years (though he did have his health absence). And who knows what Kerry's situation will be at that point, whether it's 10 or 20 years from now.

    The Cubs have nothing even resembling a third baseman ready to contribute the next few years. Soriano's value comes in large part to defensive metrics, which aren't particularly reliable and don't reflect the fact that coaches working on position play a major role in that. I haven't watched a ton of Cubs, much less the Yankees, but isn't A-Rod....not so good defensively at this point? Isn't that why people are saying he should go to an AL team?
