Makes sense. I've always thought the NFL trade deadline should be maybe 2-3 weeks later than it is, say around week 11-12 to let teams better figure out what their chances are and/or for the top teams to add a guy if they lose someone to injury after the earlier trade deadline. Not that it really matters as trades rarely happen in NFL during the season and not a ton really happen during the offseason outside of draft day trades for mostly picks. But I'd still like to see it moved back a few weeks. They did move it back two weeks this season. It's been in week 6 before. Now week 8. We're halfway through the season after tonight.

Without looking at the complete stats I want to say offensively we're worse at this point then we were last season. That's with a big upgrade to our WRs. I think an above average TE would improve things more so then Bowe. 26.4ppg and 319.6ypg this season 24.3ppg and 337.4ypg last season through 7 games.

Marshall is in for a rough winter if he thinks that was cold yesterday. College in Florida and playing for the Dolphins will do that to you though.

I think the Bears pulling out the Carolina game is great for us vs the Titans. The Titans could've been a bit of a trap game with the "hard part" of the schedule coming after. But they'll clearly want to get things sorted out this week now.

I think it's less about zip and more about mindset. I think he's worked on running routes so much, that his ability to improvise has been affected. Also, we've lost a lot of special teams guys. Hester's never done it alone. There has to be holes for him to hit. Anyway, I'm not a huge Hester the WR fan, but I think Hester still has the ability to return, as long as he quits that fair catch nonsense.

I usually don't root for the Cowboys, but I actually felt a little bad for Bryant on that play. He did so many things right, but the hand just a couple inches out of bounds. I'm just sick of hearing about the Giants.

Fine with me, since Hester hasn't returned anything for TD this year. It's just too bad we couldn't take advantage of the field position. On the couple of opportunities he did have, Hester did look more aggressive though. I kinda wanted to see what he could do. But I know you're pretty down on him.

Apparently Ron Rivera had a conversation pre-game with Hester and told him he wasn't gonna let him hurt the Panthers.
