  2. Seriously? Oh come on. Oh sure. The timing is completely coincidental, guys...completely unrelated! EDIT: Looks like some series of videos of her doing a show called "Sports Nutz" came out yesterday too? Still...stupid.
  3. I didn't watch the whole game, but that first period of the Blues/Kings was a slugfest. They were more worried about hitting each other than were about doing anything with the puck. Was pretty funny watching a wireless mic get confused for the puck though.
  4. I don't even know if I'm gonna bother to watch.

  8. The day after threatening to move, all of a sudden she wants to play nice. Coincidence?
  9. Yes, it's a rare product. Yes, they can charge whatever they want. And yes, as a fan I can be upset that it costs too much for me to be able to afford to take my family to go see. But come on now lets not pretend that watching at home is equal to watching it live. Speaking of nonsensical... If it was impossible for most normal people to afford to bring their family to a regular season game I could see the point. Not being able to take the family to see a playoff game at a reasonable cost rings a bit hollow to me though. It's not just a rare product but playoff hockey is a special addition of a rare product, a fine wine maker's premium release. I don't really think fans should expect to be able to attend playoff games without paying a pretty penny. And regardless of what the team is charging, it will be expensive unless you get through on their initial sale. The tickets are eventually going to cost the same on the resale market, so why not have the team being the one making that money? Yeah, I'll agree for playoffs...that is a very different beast. If GammonsPocketTweets was specifically talking about people complaining about playoff hockey ticket prices, then I'll concede the argument, because yeah...not really a lot of good reason to complain there.

  11. The post right before yours was about the Blues coming 2000 short of a sellout though. I suppose you're right. But you'd think there's still value in being able to brag about sellouts and show how "must see" the games are. But without knowing all the background numbers there's of course no way to say anything with any certainty. Regardless, it's still perfectly legitimate to be unhappy about ticket prices. Knowing that it's a business, and that the tickets are priced at market value doesn't mean I have to be happy about it as a consumer.
  12. Seriously? You don't get when people bitch about things costing a lot of money? Is it just ticket price conversations that are verboten, or discussions about prices of things in general? The Blackhawks are just pricing their tickets according to market demand. What's wrong with that? If they don't the secondary market will get those margins. It's nothing personal, it's just smart business. If they aren't selling out the games, then they're priced over the market demand.

  14. I don't think anyone has forgotten this. Some people appear to think it is the neighborhood that makes the park, not the other way around. It's more that the people make the park, and Rosemont would be a huge downgrade in accessibility, and therefore walk-up traffic. Are you serious? Rosemont is accessible from every direction via 294, the Kennedy, and NW Tollway. It has CTA service via the Blue Line. The added ease for those Cub fans in the suburbs would dwarf the loss of walk up traffic from those in the neighborhood. Why do so many Cub fans make the 90 mile trip to Miller Park when the Cubs play there? They don't get the "Wrigley experience" there do they? Part of that is that for suburban Cub fans, that's less hassle to get to than getting to Wrigleyville. I believe if the park were located in Rosemont, it won't be the same people in the park necessarily, but there are more than enough Cub fans who rarely go to games who would make up for them. I agree. It'd be easier access for people that don't live in the city, whether it be in the burbs or downstate. It'd be more difficult access for those that live in the city and are used to being able to get to Wrigley quickly.
  15. Gonna get a bunch of those now?

  21. I would think that CSN's schedule would get awfully crowded with Sox and Cubs, plus the overlap with the Bulls and Hawks early in the season. They already had three games overlapping last week.
