    He didn't, but Robinson's throw also had a short hop to it, while Machado's was on the fly. Maybe the first baseman was just worried about playing it cleanly? Looks like it was Powell, yes. The throw is from the 1970 World Series.

    Wouldn't that make his job easier? He's coming into one of the best situations that any team with a just fired HC could be in. I think the point is that the standard is set pretty high already. An 8-8 or 9-7 season would be considered a great first season for most first time head coaches, but wouldn't be for Trestman. I was annoyed that I couldn't read that link this morning. Stupid Tribune and their 5 article limit.
