  1. You have low threshold. We are Cubs fans. And it's the offseason/preseason. Hard to hold the standards too high.
  2. too bad Pittsburgh's play and the snow on the ice made the game kind of crappy to watch for a person who didn't really have a rooting interest I'm guessing the snow aspect was what got a lot of people tuning in. People texting their friends..."are you seeing this hockey game in the snow? They can't even move the puck in it...check it out!" It may not have been the ideal showcase for the best hockey there is to offer, but i don't think anyone expects that out of these stadium games. It's a spectacle.
  3. Bollig gets an extension worth $1.25 AAV. Not sure on the years. EDIT - 3 years.
  4. I think it was 2 picks...1st and 3rd rounder Correct.
  5. I can't imagine we'd be willing to part with enough pieces to make a Kelsler deal work. I would think they'd demand Teravainen, two 1st round picks, and someone like Saad. That said, in order to make the numbers work we'd probably have to part with Bickell. And I'm not sure why we need Brodeur. I think Raanta has been fine. Just for a secondary source on this... http://triblive.com/sports/penguins/5686336-74/penguins-kesler-sources#ixzz2uuMGelOY
  6. Me too. I have a hard time believing that you can't correct a guy's ability to catch a football. It's the easiest thing to do on a football field. He can run, get open, decent blocker. But then again, he has been cut by several times in his career. So, you were in favor of keeping Kellen Davis then?
  7. 1 year deal with Hayden announced.
  8. Saad? Yeah, Bickell is garbage. The way he was basically standing around when NYR scored their second goal last night infuriated me. He had a good shot attempt or two last night, but Saad and Shaw were all over the place, and Bickell...I'm not sure what he was doing.

  10. Bulls supposedly interested in Jimmer. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/10525785/chicago-bulls-cleveland-cavs-interested-jimmer-fredette-sources-say
  11. Ah, yeah that makes sense. So it doesn't seem like had an F medical like cubbyvirus said. It was a concern, but not to that level. A bit dramatic yes, however there's a tribune article out there that was quoted as saying there are very few cases of a player regaining full strength and mobility after dislocating a knee. Not a common injury. Angelo basically took him anyway then he promptly went out a dislocated the same knee a second time in game 2 in his rookie season. I certainly wasn't arguing it was a good pick.

  13. But Kesler's agent denies the whole thing...
  14. Angelo must've had a different grade system at the time...because he was a "yellow", not a letter grade. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2011-12-20/sports/ct-spt-1220-bears-carimi--20111220_1_gabe-carimi-surgery-outland-trophy
