He absolutely hates the daily grind of it. On the surface, that seems absurd, but it would absolutely be a grind to be up every day, having to talk about anything for hours. Especially if you have depressive tendencies like Dah Mah Nah (and myself). My understanding is that he loves to be on the radio for the playoffs (who wouldn't) and hates the grind of regular seasons. For me, the amount of money being offered would get me over that really quick, but obviously he has personal demons that he deals with that are significant.

So there's not much choice in the matter. -
That was pretty apparent, but I thought he did a nice job. I liked him, but he was very vanilla. I thought he was great. I'd have liked to have seen him give it a full year before making a decision like this, but I understand it. Wannstedt has been getting a push right now. Wonder if it could be him? He seems to fit really well with Mully and Hanley, but I don't see him midday. I mean...he's another football guy...an older Mannelly.

Treatment for what? Being a douche? Heh, it's funny how the announcements all specifically avoid saying what the treatment is for, but the presumption is alcohol.

in a fantasy world where he's capable of back to back Super Bowl berths, he probably escapes too much criticism (see: Carroll / Bevell backlash) but in this reality his decision-making is always in question because he does things like name his kid Jaxon and refuses immunization Cool references. Totally related!

Mannelly said he found out during this co-hosting gig he realized he wants to stick to football analysis...he's a fan of the other sports, but just not passionate about it enough. No new hosts announced yet. Pat's last day will be the 13th. Will still be with the station doing football analysis.
