So I guess I'm in the minority, but what I see is pitchers throwing a giant tantrum to try to make a rule they don't like go away. Meanwhile, Scherzer more or less admitted that he was using some kind of sticky stuff prior to this, but that gets no publicity. Did the rule go too far in the other direction? Sure. But players and teams have themselves to blame for that. The MLB was giving them an inch, and they took a mile. My only complaint is timing. Should've done this during the offseason, and probably with more nuance. But I applaud them taking some hardline action.
