Heyman says that the Cubs finished 2nd for Miller. Soler would've been included. But the Braves liked the DBacks offer too much.

Yeah, it's personally annoying for me because twitter is blocked at work. But when the tweet tags are applied, it shows the tweet anyway...just in a text form. Which is fine for me. When the tags aren't used, it's just blank. Fortunately, I have amazing message board superpowers, and can apply the tweet tags to people's posts whenever I want....

He's been completely non-productive after a hot start He's played 28 games and has 17 points (3 off the team lead, btw) which puts him on pace for around 50 points. In his best season as a Blackhawk, he had 52 points. The real problem is that he's can't fill the "star player/best player on the team" role. Which is likely what CBJ thought they were getting when they signed him.

I think they are if they actually use the tweet tags. But with the new addon to allow more types of embedded images, it also allows you to just post tweet links and youtube links, without the tags. But apparently that addon doesn't handle them inside of quotes. Perhaps a future update will resolve it...probably the best hope.

So would I, but I have no interest in letting him decide between those two three years from now. Exactly! The team has zero control over this...the opt-out doesn't swing both ways here.

it was talked about yesterday with price. some posters liked it because if he's good, you get out of 2 expensive years in his mid-late 30's at the end of the contract. if he's bad or just ok, you would have had him for 5 years anyway. But if he's good, those two years theoretically wouldn't be expensive, they'd be a bargain. Right...there's no scenario where the team comes out ahead with an opt out.

In this market? I don't think that's unreasonable. I'd do 5/$100 for him. I would agree, give him an opt out clause and I'd be in on that deal. Have a feeling we are going to end up with Kazmir and Span/Jackson and we will hear the "we got these guys on such cheap deals, look at what everyone else went for!" narrative. Why would you include an opt out? Opt outs are always going to be something that goes in favor the player, not the team.
