Most athletes are dumb people. I would imagine at least half of the Cubs team voted for horsefeathering Trump Yup. I'd be stunned if most either voted for Trump or didn't vote at all. Well, the white guys anyway. Fowler tweeted about Hillary's speech today.

I read Jed's statement as "we aren't gonna go get 3 or 4 big free agents....Heyward, Zobrist, Lackey style. I don't think that precludes one big pickup, like Jensen, and then some other smaller "fill-in" type moves.

That was exactly what I thought when I read that last week. I just pictured them getting security to escort Matusz out before Theo came in to apologize for his presence. My guess is the vets thought Theo was weird for doing that. What MLB team doesn't occasionally have to throw out a starter they'd rather not see start in the big leagues? And yet they still kept Matusz in the minors.
