What happened? Freel squeaked a ball past Walker and Pierre came in to shallow right/center to pick it up. Freel was going two all the way, Pierre got the ball to second base on about four bounces. Thanks... :?
http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-060404cubs,1,1629361.story?coll=cs-home-headlines Fairly obvious choices (though at the time, signing Remlinger and Hawkins didn't appear to be terrible moves), but this jumped out at me... Correct me if I'm wrong, but Karros didn't come in the Hundley deal did he? I'm pretty sure Ismael Valdez came in the Hundley deal.
Well, you are going to be very unhappy then. IF Dusty wants to stay, he will. It really will be up to him. That might be true, but it's really a dumb move by the organization if it is. Nobody should be allowed to stay just because they want to. Brett Favre gets that treatment in GB because he was a savior. Dusty has done nothing to earn such treatment in Chicago. You seem to have missed my point, they want him back. The only question is whether he wants to extend. I'm not sure he missed the point...I think he's just dissapointed with the possiblity that it's accurate... :?
I wonder if those people that think that "chemistry" in reference to the entire team doesn't affect team performance, think the same about particular areas of the game... For example, does a pitcher that has chemistry with a catcher pitch better? What about a second baseman and a SS having chemistry? Can they turn the double play better? Or is it purely a matter of talent? Not arguing either way, just trying to get at this differently.
I could get behind the weekly pitching / daily lineup changes. I guess my thought process is this. If I'm a fantasy "manager", I can make daily changes to put the best lineup on the field based on the matchups, but most of the time I'm going to stick to my pitching rotation. So that seems to coincide well with the weekly pitching / daily lineup changes.
The only other one that jumped to mind when you said this was the Gary Gaetti homer in the wild card playoff game against the Giants in 1998. Our expectations were a bit lower then... :P I'd still say the Kerry one was better, but just thought I'd mention this one.
Just thought it would be good to have a thread to crow about your good players, vent about the bad ones, and just to generally chat about happenings in the fantasy league. I'll start... Thank goodness I don't have Jon Lieber active....yikes. Philadelphia
