I think Peter is a closet Cubs fan. He predicted the Cubs to win the series a couple years back, and it seems like he really enjoys talking about them.

On TV it looked a whole lot like the Giants stadium to me. (Like Chief Cardinal, I have no idea what it's call anymore. It will always be Pac Bell to me.) I typically would avoid a game in St. Louis like the plague because I hated Busch, but now I'm actually excited to go check one out.

seconded But I would think that Wilbon's take on the Cubs would be a bit more serious than their other opinions. He's just a pessimistic Cubs fan. He'd love to be wrong in this case I'm sure.

Considering the fact he's Canadian, but dressed up as "Captain AMERICA" at the least hallloween, I would say so. That's awesome. I didn't konw that. I'm sure someone can repost the photos.

Since we are stating our opinions, I think you are way off. They wouldn't hold a press conference to tell the fans that Lee is being stubborn and won't agree to a reasonable extension. That has never been Hendry's m.o. When he has fiured away at players in the past, its been through subtle commentary in informal interviews. Pretty sure Tree was referring to crazy numbers, not that Lee is holding out or anything. That said...if Lee wanted crazy numbers, free agency would've been the way to get that. 4/48 is my guess. -

Gah...I had done so well keeping my expectations reasonable for this team, but after this series this weekend, and the good news we're hearing on Wood, Prior and Miller, I'm getting way overexcited for this summer. Zambrano Wood Prior Maddux Miller Tee Hee.

No offense, but that was one out. What about the 4 game domination in Chicago in '03 that sent you to the playoffs? What about the Neifi grand slam last year? Agreed. That 5 game series in 03' is my favorite regular season series ever. This series we just had was pretty sweet, but too early to have enough meaning. -
The Cubs have 2 pinch hit homer this season (Barrett and Mabry) All of last season the Cubs had 2 pinch hit homers. (Dubois and Walker) Whatever Mabry is doing, as long as it works, I don't need to know.

I've hated the Cards since the Cardinals-Twins world series in 87. I found myself getting behind Puckett, Hrbeck and Gaetti during that series, and really hating guys like Ozzie, Tony Pena, Willie Mcgee, Terry Pendleton, Jose Oquendo and Vince Coleman. I think it was because we watch a lot of it at a family friends house, and they were Cardinal fans and enjoying rubbing our faces in the fact that they were in the Series. (Holy crap...just looked up the 87 series stats for fun...I didn't realize that Don Baylor was on that Twins team...crazy.) -
I'll hop on the "New Dusty" bandwagon. He's done a lot of things right this week.

Honestly, does he do as much damage vs. other teams than the Cards? I think we might have another Alex Gonzalez on our hands (albeit a more talented one). Well he definitely had a nice series, but he's seriously the best offensive catcher in the NL...he did win the silver slugger last year.

Really, all I see is AI talking about the whipping he put on the Bulls. It wasn't terribly long. Was just saying how they played very good baseball all weekend, that Cedeno had a really good day, that Barrett has been the hero for a couple of days now, and how hopefully today will get Jones started.
