  1. While we're on the subject, Derek Lee is a wimp too. Suck it up and play through a broken wrist. Almost as bad as Prior not pitching after taking a liner off the elbow. We need Keith Hernandez to come teach the Cubs how to be macho.
  2. ..and to think I was hoping we could get a swimming pool or a 20 ft cow in the middle of the outfield. But do you have a train that comes out for home runs? I don't think so.... :P Actually I think the outfield wall made out of toasted ravioli is a great idea! I picture a giant cuckoo clock that a big red cardinal pops out of everytime there's a homer...
  3. I wonder how Boston feels about Clemens's loyalty.

  5. Way to convince him Berkman! There's one Astro that must not want him back that much  Or thinks he might play for a different team, and would rather see him retire than see him on another team.

  7. It's also pretty much a must win if the Bulls seriously want to take the series. If they lose tonight, they'd have to win 4 of 5 to take the series, and that's not going to happen.
  8. Night games should NOT be allowed on Monday nights until late may...I mean...24! Come on!
  9. Intervention....seriously...you neeeed help. You have to admit that's just more fun than saying "I'd prefer Dmitri Young". I just got that after reading it 10 times. someone on another board said that was "the best name the dugout has ever had" and I didn't get it until just now. Now that I understand it...  The Dugout has had some seriously funny names though... Just from today's entry alone: NeedsABathia PierrePants SoggyInMilk = Coco Crisp
  10. Really? I mean...I like Murton a lot too, but I think the chances of him being as good as Cabrera are low enough that the trade would definitely be do-able. Stats so far for this season... Cabrera AVG .346 | HR 3 | RBI 11 | OBP .443 | SLG .635 Murton AVG .280 | HR 2 | RBI 9 | OBP .345 | SLG .480 You try to keep your BEST players. I'd rather have Murton AND Cabrera not Cabrera AND Jones. That kind of negates the benifit of adding Cabrera doesn't it? Based on WHO you replace. Just like Replacing Cedeno with Tejada now wouldn't help us much, because Ronny is performing really well!! Well sure, ideally you'd love to give up nothing and get something, but chances are the Marlins are going to want actual talent back for Miguel Cabrera. I'm simply saying that if Murton is a "must" in order to get Cabrera, I'd be ok with that (of course the rest of the package would have an impact on that as well.)

  12. According to the Royals fans on their MLB board, Sweeney might be on the DL before Lee is off it: One of the Sweened trade to Cubs threads And I agree with Hairston at 2nd and TWalk at 1st. Wow. Prior and a prospect for Sweeney!? Pie and Cedeno?!? Jesus. More delusional than the Cubs.com posters in Royal land...and probably for good reason. One of the few teams close to as frustrating to watch as the Cubs. I'm still laughing about both of those trade ideas. Wow I hadn't actually read that thread. That's some hilarious stuff. I love that they want MORE than Prior because of his injury woes...LOL
  13. Intervention....seriously...you neeeed help.
  14. He'd get ticked at Cedeno every time he had to scoop a throw out of the dirt... :P
  15. Welcome! :)
  16. Do the -3 runs come from Pujols hitting 3 homers and running the wrong way around the bases?
  17. If that is how things shake out then I have to ask why Hairston is even on the team. That's just Bruce's opinion. Stone suggested that Walker play 1B and Haiston 2B. No doubt Dusty is contemplating all of these options as I type. What happens when you stop typing? =D> Well done!
  18. uh...if that's true...wow.
  19. Could be his attitude and work ethic could have something to do with where he plays and the talent he's surrounded by. Of course I don't know that for sure, but certainly a change of scenery could be helpful. I have a feeling that some of the vets on this team would put him in his place, and not let him get that "top dog" feeling.
  20. Has he ever said this? Or just your belief?
  21. A lot of people saying Neifi would get more playing time is if Cedeno struggled, even for a short period of time. That has yet to happen, so obviously Cedeno is going to remain the starter while he's having success. Even Dusty isn't dumb enough to sit someone hitting as well as Ronny is right now. I hate Dusty. he's an idiot and plays crappy players when he doesn't have to way too much. with that said, many said all winter that Neifi would get all the SS at the first sign of Cedeno struggles, then Cedeno struggled all spring. come openning day, Cedeno was the starting shortstop, so his point is well taken. fwiw, cedeno was pretty much guaranteed the starting job going into spring training. if he struggled during the year like he did during the spring, neifi would probably be starting by now. If I recall correctly, Bobby Hill was "pretty much guaranteed" the starting second base job and managed to lose it before the season started, so Baker should at least get credit for giving Cedeno the shot....
  22. I find the section about Lee's injury more interesting...I hope Will is right.
