  1. Don Banks is pretty sure Carr is going to get traded this offseason. Nothing about the Bears, or any place that he'd end up actually...just bashing the '02 draft class. But I'm still in favor of a trade for Carr.
  2. Zambrano in a deal for ARod would be a no-brainer to me. Zambrano helps every 5th game. ARod helps every day. But overall I'd prefer to keep Big Z. That's what Banedon thinks. 3rd person, eh? Banedon doesn't like your tone...

  4. Exactly. It's hard to begrudge Z for playing hardball, when the Cubs spent a ton of money on free agents like they have, before locking him up. What he's asking for isn't some crazy number given the pitching market. Maybe he's got some attitude, but that's part of what makes him a great pitcher. Trade him for Cabrera...hehe.
  5. This game shouldn't be in OT. Seems like they are always either coming back from a deficit in the 4th, or giving up a big lead.

  7. Your feelings on Wade being HC? I like him better than I'd like Turner as HC. My concern with Phillips has more to do with Garrett than Phillips. I figure that Phillips will do a good job working with the defense and that Dallas will find ways to bring pressure with his schemes. On the other hand, there's really no one there to mentor Garrett with the offense. Hoepfully he's ready, but he hasn't had a lot of experience. Who were you wanting in there? And what did you think of Ron Rivera as a candidate? Just curious for a Cowboy fan perspective.
  8. Completely meaningless fact: The last team to beat the Colts? The Texans, 27-24...led by David Carr. :P

  10. I freaking hate that there are games on WCIU. I cant see all of the rest of them down here except those, and those are never Wednesday afternoon games or something...they're always games I would normally get to watch...
  11. Mel Kiper has a first round projection today with the Bears grabbing Arron Sears OL from Tennessee. http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft07/insider/columns/story?id=2748081&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab4pos1&univLogin02=stateChanged It also has Quinn going to Miami. If the Texans are serious about trading Carr, I wonder if they would go after Quinn. It's an insider article.
  12. Carr would be a really, really interesting player to get. He and Berrian would have no issues, certainly. A competition between he and Grossman would be a very good thing. He's the one I'm really hoping for (which means of course it won't happen). I wish Casserly was still around though... :D
  13. Considering that Garcia has had 1 season out of 8 where he played worse than Rex this year (and that year he only played 6 games behind one of the worst offensive lines I've seen with a huge deficit most of the time-otherwise known as the Lions :D )-I'm not sure how you can make such a definitive claim. Grossman is far more likely to improve than Garcia.
  14. Count me in the "not interested in Garcia" crowd. Mcnabb and Carr are really the only two options that have perked my interest from what I've heard.
  15. IMO it's not going to happen. The Bears aren't going to shell out FA money for Garcia unless they dump Griese. I don't think he would be that expensive. There's been rumors that the Vikings will offer Garcia over $4mil/season. What's Griese getting paid? I know it's a 5 year deal, but I can't find anything that lists his salary. EDIT: I think his deal with the Bucs before us was 5 years/$32 million

  17. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/bears/248641,CST-SPT-bear08.article From the same article:
  18. Not sure I agree with that. So you would trade Zambrano in the middle of the season if he is not going to re-sign with the Cubs? What if the Cubs are in the playoff race, then would you still trade him? So your options would be to either trade Zambrano now, which would make no sense, or you trade him in the middle of the season when the Cubs are in the playoff chase. Im keeping Zambrano. That probably depends a whole lot on what Prior, Miller, and Wood are doing healthwise and performance-wise.
  19. I'm afraid of what we'd have to give up for him.
  20. I think this part is exactly where we'd end up if this trade ever happened.
