  1. As a guy that only ventures into the minor league forum once every leap year or so, can someone tell me how this guy injured himself with a playstation?
  2. Not a chance. If they are now just getting to review the clubs financial records, it cannot happen in two days and most of baseball is out for the holidays. First Zell would need to select who he wants to sell to and I think he has bigger fish to fry revamping the executive level of Tribune. Then it needs to be approved by the ownership committee. THEN, it goes to the owners who would have to meet and approve the deal. That doesn't happen in two days. Who the heck is O's Insider anyhow? Sounds like a blog which means don't believe it. It was a joke from the Brian Roberts thread. The O's insiders were about as wrong as wrong could be. Hence the joke about them believing Cuban was about to buy the Cubs.
  3. I was playing Wow. I can't get back those either. But atleast I have some light leather to leatherwork with. omg nooo, quit before its too late!!!!! Yeah I finally got out of that....about a year and a half ago... Though I did just start EQ2....just to check it out again...

  5. Just wait till they find out that Belkast's source has been living under his desk at work.
  6. Actually it's the White Sox he owns a piece of. Oops...you're right. Point still stands...
  7. Adam Dunn? Yeah I don't see that. Andrew Jones wouldn't be a bad way to turn out.
  8. Ok, so technically Zell will own the Cubs tomorrow when this is completed? How does that work since he still has an ownership stake in the Brewers?
  9. Ok, we all had a good laugh. Lets get back on topic please.
  10. I just snuck into the next level bracket. Nice.
  11. I think Mariotti made some of his own conclusions from this article. Maybe I'm reading too closely, but CNNmoney makes it sound like there are potentially more than just these 3 groups that have permission. It's certainly not clear.
  12. I can't speak to Roberts since I haven't seen the story, but I don't think Pettitte gets any credit for his "admission." He gets credit in my mind only so far as he didn't deny it. Same with Vina. Vina's story was so weak though that I didn't buy a word of it. He was trying to admit it while dodging responsibility for it the whole time.
  13. Wow...the media was all in an uproar about there not being any concrete evidence about Roberts, and how much of a victim he was. I'm glad some of these guys are starting to admit it though. Petitte, Vina, Roberts....that's the right way to deal with this, even though I don't buy your "oops" stories that go along with it.
  14. If nothing else Cuban expresses himself very, very well. Man I hope this happens.
  15. It's important for 6 year olds to have good bs meters. Otherwise they might have fun. The best. Now there's a great series. In fact, the name Banedon comes from a similar series of books...Lone Wolf.
  16. Gritty?
  17. Leadoff hitter is up there too. Agreed, but I still wanna see Soriano moved down....
  18. It's been sounding very much like Fukudome was signed here with the assurance he'll be playing RF. Until we hear otherwise, it's a huge stretch and terribly unlikely that we'll see him in CF. Any deal moving Pie must be countered with another deal to get a CFer. I don't think it's a stretch to think we might see him in CF on occasion either to mix things up, to sit Felix down just as he starts to get his stroke, or in an extra inning game when players are running out. But yeah, I don't think he's gonna be the regular CF at any point.
  19. Roids wore off. NO! How dare you. The guy who told him how to hit homers, who only the he saw, was named George Baruth (omg, George "Babe" Ruth?!?!) and he left town at the end of the book. That's when he stopped hitting homers. OMG SPOILER WARNING!
  20. I'm sad about it. I think it was a mistake. But I just don't have the energy to be angry about it. I think it's just so much drama that's gone into the whole Prior thing, that while I'm upset about the decision, there's still a certain amount of relief that it's over.
  21. So your point brings up another point. If this is possible, how many Dominicans do you think may have done the same as Sammy (if true). Players like Ortiz and Manny could easily have done the same thing and gotten away with it. And how dumb does that make Miguel Tejada look?
  22. Jeter for sure. The evil side of me wanted some names that would surprise me. Real "goody goody" guys...like Ripken or Gwynn or Griffey...heh.
  23. Lots of cheaters in the hall of fame. Spitball throwers, sign stealers...how about Ty Cobb's sharpened spikes? willing to cheat =/= steroid user i know. i just don't want people patting themselves on the backs about being "right" about sammy being innocent I don't think anyone is patting themselves on the back. First of all this in no way means Sosa is innocent. He just wasn't named in THIS report. It's just that some people seem to experience euphoric glee at the prospect of Sosa being named a steriod user when there is no more than circumstatial evidence. I would argue that there is at least as much, if not more, circumstatial evidence to suggest that the whole corking incident was, as Sosa claimed, just a mistake. (He just used the bat when fooling around in BP I believe was the story). I don't know if he used stroids or not but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. And while I admit I won't be the first to come down on him if it does come out he used; I won't be far behind and I won't be pleased about it either. Arguing he didn't use steroids and arguing the corking was a "mistake" are very different arguments. One is "did he do it" and the other is "why did he do it?" We all know Sosa corked his bat. We don't know he did steroids. There's much, much more reason to be suspicious of the corking.
