Hate to see that. I went to the same college as Casey and he really is a nice guy. -
I heard that, too. Well, to be fair, he only played TEN of his previous TWELVE seasons in the NL.

The headline already said that Glavine KO'd the Cubs for win #300. I did a double take and re-read to make sure I wasn't seeing things. The link to the story wasn't working and when I refreshed it, the headline had been corrected.

You're right. Howry's inability to properly execute a simple rundown had no effect on yesterday's game. It's not like he let the winning run get safely back to second in the bottom of the 9th. Oh wait.

Couldn't agree more. I think he gets more pissed when the Cubs play bad than any of us here.

I was able to get Ron Santo to sign two baseballs before today's game (gave one to my old man). I've been told that I appeared on the beginning of the Rangers broadcast of today's game as I was waiting for Ronnie to sign the baseballs, too.

How is it that the Cubs are so poor fundamentally year after year after year? You can blame it on the farm system, but even the free agents we bring in seem to have no clue how to play the game properly. It is so maddening. Some of the mistakes they make would have gotten me an earful from my coach when I was in little league had I made the same ones. Absolutely ridiculous.

He could play a corner. Yes, what we need is yet another corner outfielder. He can platoon with Floyd, Jones, and Murton.
