  1. Did you miss him putting his hand on the throat of Puerto Rican Bret Michaels last night before the psycho went all Rocky on the water cooler in the loser's dugout?
  2. This was me last night at the bar. :flythew:
  3. http://media.collegetimes.com/uploads/2014/03/77789-kramer-mind-blown-gif-vynA.gif
  4. When you win 3 in 6 years the novelty wears off a little. I would be all jacked up for the banner raising tonight if the Cubs weren't playing in the Wild Card game at the same time. :nhl: :flythew:
  5. But the game is in the eastern time zone so it's actually at 2008 and my phone lists the date as 1007, which subtracted from 2008 makes 1001, which was the year Leif Erikkson and his vikings settled in North America and vikings are pretty much just pirates with fur coats, and Joe Namath famously wore a fur coat on the sideline during a game in 1971, which was also the year the Pirates won the World Series over Baltimore so [expletive] that [expletive]. Buzzkill
  6. A friend just texted me that first pitch tomorrow is at 7:08pm. In military time that is 1908. And the date is 10/7. It's been 107 years since the Cubs last won the World Series in 1908. This has to be a sign, right?
  7. Yeah I have been thinking about doing this. I think I could swing $150 per ticket, I imagine after the Cubs win tomorrow the ticket prices will increase significantly. I would leave around 9am and head home after the game so no hotel needed. I just won $180 in the office weekly NFL pick 'em pool. I think that's a sign.
  8. Reading this thread has me so damn nervous for tomorrow's game but also jacked up about the idea of a quick road trip to STL for Saturday's game if we can get Jake a run or two in Pittsburgh.
  9. The only game that really kinda intrigues me is Cal @ Utah. From a trainwreck perspective I am interested in the beatdown OU is sure to put on the horns Saturday over breakfast.
  10. what is your favorite Dan Campbell memory A speech he gave at 1998 Bonfire where he said that he loved being at Texas A&M where the men loved women and the women loved men. He ended up having to apologize for the comment and then the Westboro Baptists nuts protested A&M at the Big 12 Championship game in St. Louis. (For the record, I am not homophobic and have nothing against gays. It was just a funny & unexpected jab at our then rivals.)
  11. Happy for Dan Campbell taking over for Mr. Rogers in Miami. Hope the Dolphins can show some kind of improvement the rest of the way.
  12. What a crappy week of match-ups.
  13. If anyone is in the DFW area I am getting together with about 5-6 fellow Cubs fans at 54th Street in Irving (635 just west of MacArthur). I talked to the GM there on Thursday and he said they'd put the sound on for us. They should also be able to put the Blackhawks game on too, though I'm not going to worry about that at all.
  14. You're most likely right, but I thought the same thing when I skipped an Eric Clapton show at Alpine Valley. That ended up being the night Stevie Ray Vaughan's helicopter crashed. I also skipped Pink Floyd's last ever Dallas show because I didn't feel good. I said I will catch them next time around. Oh well, I'm over it at this point. I'm just ready for Wednesday to come so we can get the Wild Card game going.
  15. No watch party at Wrigley. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/cubs/post/_/id/34718/cubs-wont-hold-watch-party-for-wild-card-game
  16. October is here and I have playoff tickets in hand. Am I dreaming? If so, don't wake me up for a while.
  17. Man, that has to be so awesome! I'm still giddy about it. It's been 31 years since I last held Cubs World Series tickets in my hands. Hopefully I get to use these.
  18. Royal Blood I'm a huge music fan. I've traveled all over, inside and outside of the country, just for concerts. I've been to around 20 this year alone. But as I said above, there is no way I am missing the Wild Card game.
  19. you could always pull the DVR move and just ignore anywhere that might be showing like ESPN or whatever on your way home from the concert. shouldn't be too hard to avoid having it spoiled considering where you live, assuming you REALLY want to see that concert I'd have to completely turn my phone off, too. That wouldn't work. Someone would ruin it for me. I'm doing what I can to get to Austin this weekend to see them there instead. If not, I guess I'll just have to miss the show and hope I get to see them at some point in the future.
  20. I just realized that I have a concert that same night. I've been dying to see this band for a while now. I am so [expletive] bummed. I already checked their tour dates and I can't catch them anywhere else either. Oh well, there's no way I am missing this game.
  21. Just got an e-mail a short time ago with a FedEx tracking number. I should have mine tomorrow.
  22. And Russell looks 12 in that picture.
