  1. On my plane now from Dallas to Chicago. Lots of Cubs gear on the flight.
  2. He definitely was. That was hilarious. I can't believe I missed that. I want a gif of that! We rewound it to make sure I heard him correctly the first time. A gif is definitely needed.
  3. Pretty sure Schwarber told someone in the Cubs dugout to suck his dick. Lol.
  4. Found it. :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: http://www.trbimg.com/img-5810b123/turbine/ct-cubs-indians-world-series-game1-photos-070/1300/1300x731
  5. Anyone have a pic of where that Schwarber ball hit the wall?
  6. Those odds seem ridiculously high. Prop bets are usually sucker bets because odds are rarely good. That almost seems like a mistake. I would've guessed 10-1 tops. Doubt you can still bet those odds. On ESPN 1000, Tom Waddle just made a $100 bet on that prop. Just put $50 on it. So close to $2,000. :banghead:
  7. 40-1 odds that he hits the first homer in the series. Tempted to put some money down on that. Those odds seem ridiculously high. Prop bets are usually sucker bets because odds are rarely good. 9. I also think that he might be saving Contreras in case Schwarber comes up to face Miller. Given his rust and his numbers against lefties last year, it might make sense to PH for Contreras (or Soler). But of course if you PH the DH spot, you lose the DH spot for the game and need to PH there the rest of the game or hit with the pitcher. Hence having 2 quality bats off the bench in Willy and Georgie. The DH rule is so dumb.
  10. Murphy's has made it clear that they are not charging a cover, FWIW. But I did hear the Cubby Bear was charging a $100 cover last Saturday. That's not the info I'm getting. My dad actually called Murphy's and they said no cover as of now, but not out of the question. My cousin has also heard they're one of the bars planning to charge a cover for sure. http://i.imgur.com/N93DpdF.jpg

  12. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.cgi?id=schwaky01&year=Career&t=b#lineu Over 80% of his plate appearances at the MLB level have come at #2. Thank you.
  13. Does anyone have stats at to how many AB's Schwarber had last year per position in the order?
  14. I was expecting him to bat 6th between Javy and Russell.
  15. I'm calling it now. Schwarber will be the World Series MVP.
  16. Struck out again. I'm the Jason Heyward of ticket lotteries.
  17. What a dick. I would cease to be friends with him.
  18. Great Joe West will be here to make sure we know that Joe West is an umpire in the WS. Joe West. Joe West. Also, it looks kind of like Game 1 at least will be rained out. Which way do they rotate? In other words, will West be behind the plate at any time in the series?
  19. If I was a player on the Indians, I would expect my whole family to root against me in this series and I would be OK with that.
  20. For Ron Santo- Possibly the biggest Cubs fan ever. He was a terrible announcer but god did I love listening to him cheer & groan along with us as Pat told us what was actually happening. For Ernie Banks- The name Mr. Cub says it all. For Jack Brickhouse- The first announcer I heard call a Cubs game. For Harry Caray- The voice of the Cubs for most of my childhood. For our own Fred Hornkohl- I never had the pleasure to meet him but I always loved his posts on the game threads and felt like I got to know him through the posts of many of you here. And for my old man- My dad was right up there with Santo in his love for the Cubs. He was giddy like a little kid when he got to meet his hero Billy Williams and get his picture with him. Then the next year at spring training he actually got Tom Ricketts to get Billy to sign his picture for him. He is the reason I love the Cubs so much. Many times over the years I cursed him for making me a fan but I can't thank him enough now. We spent so many hours bonding while watching games together at home and at Wrigley. This experience is somewhat bittersweet because he's no longer here but I found a way to take him to the World Series with me. http://i.imgur.com/ezGAQhY.jpg
