  1. It's going to be the Joe West show tonight, with the Cubs and Indians making guest appearances
  2. Javy pretty much carried the offense for a stretch against the Dodgers. Now that Javy is mortal again and Schwarber can only pinch hit, Zobrist is our only regular lineup hitter who is swinging a hot bat. We desperately need Bryant, Rizzo, Fowler or someone to get hot. I don't like feeling dread when Kris Bryant is coming up to bat.
  3. So, it's just quite literally impossible for us to hit the ball to LF tonight?
  4. Cleveland could have put first basemen and catchers in the entire outfield.
  5. If Salazar really is on a pitch limit this series, we're using them up.
  6. He's struggling. Don't chase pitches outside the zone Javy.
  7. We've gone from "No way you can play Schwarber in this series" to "No way you can bench Schwarber in Chicago" in about 7 at bats.
  8. Non Kluber, Miller, Allen named Indian pitchers are as mediocre as advertised so far.
  9. Rizzo was getting hot at the end of the Dodgers series. Feel like Rizzo/Zobrist/Schwarber part of the order is going to carry us in the series.
  10. Apparently Rick has absolutely no interest in sports and Skip has absolutely no interest in food. Skip is one of those guys who calls in 5 orders of chicken and broccoli with no sauce on Sunday from his local chinese delivery place and eats it all week for every meal.
  11. Feel like we should be up 4-0 with the crap Bauer is serving.
  12. I'm not that down about this game. With a 6 days rested Kluber in front of a crazy Game 1 home crowd, this was essentially a must win for Cleveland. If you're going to lose this game, you came out of this about as well as hoped. Schwarber looked unbelievable after the time off. Put a ton of pitches on Miller already in this series (optimist in me wonders if Francona's overuse isnt' starting to show a little bit?). Lester really didn't give up many hard hit balls, and stayed under 100 pitches. No mileage put on our closer or best lefty reliever. Hoping the guy with the season OPS < .600 morphing into Mickey Mantle isn't sustainable for the Indians the entire series. And hope Kluber's pitches aren't this live the rest of the series (particularly if the Indians use him Game 4 & 7), we saw the difference in Game 2 Kershaw vs Game 6 Kershaw.
  13. Lefties hitting slightly better against Miller than righties this year. Neither hitting well.
  14. Just make Kluber work and get those pitch counts up for the series.
  15. Agreed. He should have totally done something with 2 pitches that were out of the zone that he correctly took. He's depriving us of the unintentional comedy of Heyward trying to hit Kluber's slider.
  16. Smoltz "Sure, these pitches are clearly balls, but he's been throwing these balls all night for called strikes!!!" Thanks, Jon.
  17. And here's the part of playoff baseball where the opponent who barely hits .579 OPS all year suddenly morphs into Mickey Mantle.
  18. Hope that slider flattens out on short rest the rest of the series.
  19. Ump's strikezone is influenced by homecrowd fans. Stupid MLB All Star Game homefield advantage nonsense.
