  1. I love how much confusion there is right now
  2. Hitting .250 with no walks and no power. Just another cubs disappointment.
  3. a month ago we were making grim faced jokes about this, but as of earlier today we were at: Baez - .281/.322/.519/.841 as a 20-year-old in A+ Lindor - .306/.375/.427/.802 as a 19-year-old in A+
  4. Here's a dumb, weird update on Tyler Colvin. The Rockies sent him to AAA after spring training which i guess was a surprise after he had a pretty good year last year. Obviously he's in a good (great?) hitters environment or whatever, but he's at .299/.409/.517 with 31 walks to 45 Ks. I can honestly say I never expected him to be on pace for 90 walks at any level of play
  5. Not really IMO. He was "the guy" at Toronto and not much else. You put him on any good team and he is what he should be... a good 2nd/great 3rd option on offense. I know some people used to compare him to KG when he was at Toronto, but Bosh really has no post game and his defense always been meh to me. He used to be a much more aggressive rebounder, and he DID have something of a post game on the Raptors. Now he's almost exclusively a perimeter oriented player. It's like he's trying to play a small forward game in a power forward body When you have LeBron and Wade handling the ball 99 percent of the time, you dont stick a guy who's a good jumpshooter down on the block and tell him to hang around.
  6. wasnt there a time in the 2000s when we wanted brian schneider on the cubs?
  7. Maybe I'm confused then. Is the consensus that they could have taken Buxton 1.1 and still paid for McCullers?
  8. I notice there's been no mention of McCullers in this discussion for some reason
  9. Hahaaahaahahahahahah
  10. FWIW, I'd still have rather drafted him over Hayden Simpson. I'm shocked Josh Hamilton didn't do this first. used all his change to buy crack
  11. listening to steve stone tow the company line never gets old. what a slimeball sellout
  12. Shawn Bradley and Gheorge Muresan were drafted for their athleticism and ball handling skills? lmao george muresean was a 2nd round pick. you really think they regret drafting him?
  13. 12K, complete game shutout. Yowza
  14. he would have been the best pf of all time instead of the best c?
  15. lmao the ump didnt even flinch
  16. I PMed Treymon, looks like SSR is filling the void. leave tree's sister out of this
  17. How much does the college football playoff or whatever it is lengthen their season? i guess it could have something to do with that, too.
  18. It'd be fascinating and frustrating to construct a team there. I'd have to agree that this would seem like the most sensible approach. Related to Gray in Colorado, does anyone know if Coors has a measurable effect on velocity? i've linked to it before, but this is still the best study i've seen on the effects of Coors' thin air: http://wooden-feather.com/?p=33 I wonder if that's why "just get a bunch of ground ball pitchers and some good defense" hasn't been a viable practice there

  20. im at the stage now where ill be nervous no matter who we draft
  21. I always thought he was a really fat dude, but he looks in really good shape this year.
  22. http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?content_id=27187051&topic_id=&sid=milb&tcid=vpp_copy_27187051&v=3 How far did Buxton hit this? (mute it. minor league announcers are baaaaaad)
  23. These draft flashbacks on baseball america are fascinating http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/top-100-draft-flashback-naming-names/ http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/primary-major-league-positions-for-top-draft-talents/
