  1. FWIW, I'd still have rather drafted him over Hayden Simpson. I'm shocked Josh Hamilton didn't do this first. used all his change to buy crack
  2. listening to steve stone tow the company line never gets old. what a slimeball sellout
  3. Shawn Bradley and Gheorge Muresan were drafted for their athleticism and ball handling skills? lmao george muresean was a 2nd round pick. you really think they regret drafting him?
  4. 12K, complete game shutout. Yowza
  5. he would have been the best pf of all time instead of the best c?
  6. lmao the ump didnt even flinch
  7. I PMed Treymon, looks like SSR is filling the void. leave tree's sister out of this
  8. How much does the college football playoff or whatever it is lengthen their season? i guess it could have something to do with that, too.
  9. It'd be fascinating and frustrating to construct a team there. I'd have to agree that this would seem like the most sensible approach. Related to Gray in Colorado, does anyone know if Coors has a measurable effect on velocity? i've linked to it before, but this is still the best study i've seen on the effects of Coors' thin air: http://wooden-feather.com/?p=33 I wonder if that's why "just get a bunch of ground ball pitchers and some good defense" hasn't been a viable practice there

  11. im at the stage now where ill be nervous no matter who we draft
  12. I always thought he was a really fat dude, but he looks in really good shape this year.
  13. http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?content_id=27187051&topic_id=&sid=milb&tcid=vpp_copy_27187051&v=3 How far did Buxton hit this? (mute it. minor league announcers are baaaaaad)
  14. These draft flashbacks on baseball america are fascinating http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/top-100-draft-flashback-naming-names/ http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/primary-major-league-positions-for-top-draft-talents/
  15. matt cain hasnt had a 5-WAR season since 2009?
  16. Honestly, I'm going to be really happy with any of the guys we are likely to get at this point. I know exactly how it will play out for me. I'll settle on one of the top three guys, we'll draft someone else and I'll try to talk myself into it before reading Hoyer and Epstein's quotes, and totally buying in.
  17. If it's Appel or Bryant, aren't we really talking about Greinke vs. Alex Gordon? I don't know who I'd take in that instance.
  18. Doesn't Bryant play at a major step down, competition wise, than basically all of those guys?
  19. How could it not be Travis Wood?
  20. Trade Dejesus for the comp pick, called Ryne up and say "hey buddy, we're going to patch things up and take your nephew" "ok I appreciate that what a nice gest--*CLICK*" The Cubs select Cavan Biggio.
  21. A Biggio and a Sandberg ... are they who I think they are?
  22. That's what I love about these types of deals for us. He could literally become crippled tomorrow and we're just writing off 6 mil a year.
  23. god damn what an awesome reference
