  1. Your point total must be less than 2300 for those players that are non-exempt. A player gets three exemptions from when he starts playing. So a player who was called up this season would be exempt from the point total for this off-season and two more. You can only have 10 keeper players and 10 minor leaguers. I am not sure about the rules about minor league status at the moment. No season over 200 AB's for a hitter and less than 10 starts, or 25 appearances, in a season for a pitcher I think. You can not pick up any free agents at this time. You do not have to keep Pratt (He was a gag pick up anyways), but you cannot pick up any new minor leaguers until the season starts. Basically all you can do at this point is decide which players you wish to drop/keep for next year. The trading deadline has passed.

  3. No, those are not my students. (Although I have had a few that have been quite attractive - one became something of a supermodel in Japan). That picture was taken in Warnemunde, which is a seaside resort town on the Baltic coast. Who says those East German women are all body builders huh... BTW - Don't we have a rule that says all newbie managers have to donate a draft pick to the other managers in the league
  4. Welcome to the Jungle
  5. Don't let your concious get the better of you NC. Play hardball, screw Tim. He has already won a championship  Sssh don't tell Tim. Also don't tell Raw or Adam. Looking back at what I wrote I think I may have come off as being too harsh. My apologies if I did so. I want this league to be fun, fair and honest, but we should play to win. Besides no matter where Tim selects the Fight'n Quakers will kick his butt in 06! :smokin: i took your comments personally, and i will have no mercy on you next season. bulletin board material, my friend. :axe: Geez......A guy wins one little championship and then he thinks he is God's gift to fantasy baseball. :fencing:

  8. I wasn't aware of DLee's contract situation. That would make him tougher to trade. I would like to emphasize that I would only trade him if the deal was fantastic. Not only does him bring a big bat and glove to the team, IMO he also is one of the best leaders we have had on the team for a long time. But if I may use the Mariners as an example. Trading Griffey and Johnson were two smart moves. Also, in hindsight, the Cubs should have traded Sosa when they had the chance. I would also like to point out that I am envious of the Angel's depth of infield prospects. Wood, Morales, Kendrick, Callaspo, Aybar,.... and think that the Cub's management should be doing all it can to relieve LA of their problem.
  9. I think I detect a little bias from a White Sox fan :-k Do you think the Sox will repeat next year? Or are they a one year wonder?
  10. Sell high, buy low says the adage. D' Lee will be hard pressed to repeat last season. Would you trade him?? Personally I could see it if the price were right. The Angels are loaded with prospects. Maybe D.Lee for Kendry Morales and Howie Kendrick? Any thoughts?
  11. The Sox were good, but the fact that the Cards and Stros made it to the NL championship game makes your claim that the NL central blows dubious at best. :zap:

I vote against contraction too. How about DJAXX?? Anyone who can set up so many interviews would have to make an interesting manager in our league. Is DelRoy interested in returning?
  13. Having seen a couple of these players let me comment. Davey Gregg - I wasn't impressed. Not much a bunter, Walker is much better defensively. Johnny Defendis - A very good contact hitter, but if he is going to play a corner outfield spot he is going to have to show some power. He did not do so when I saw him. Average arm in right. Jake Muyco - They have him pegged as far as his defense goes. The best I have seen at Boise. He looked OK at the plate for SS ball, I need to see what he can do at a more advanced level.
  14. I haven't seen this posted anywhere. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/news/article.jsp?ymd=20051028&content_id=32143&vkey=news_l119&fext=.jsp&sid=l119
  15. Clemens loses it in game one. Any of you Astro believers going to change your mind?? BTW - I would like to post some of my photos from Germany in my signiture like Delro's soccer play. How do I do that?
  16. Time to make your predictions. I say the Sox in 6.
  17. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....:) But seriously, you seem to have a couple of players ready for a breakout campaign.
  18. Ditto. I would feel nervous in having him be our starting left fielder on opening day, but there should be an expectation that it is his job to win.
  19. Well so far Kendrick is hitting a cool .500 and Wood is not far behind hitting a mere .444. Oh did I mention that Wood has 8 homeruns and 16 RBI's:) http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/milb/stats/stats.jsp?t=l_bat&did=l119&lid=119&sid=l119
  20. Admittedly the line-up is terrible, but I would like to have Willis and Garland back.
  21. Make of this what you will, but it is important to remember that sometimes the best trade is the one that is not made. Position - Name Avg/HR/Runs/RBIs C - Damian Miller .273/9/50/43 1B - Rafeal Palmeiro .266/18/47/60 2B - Mark Grudzielanek .294/8/64/59 3B - Bill Mueller .295/10/62/69 SS - Alex Gonzalez .264/5/45/45 OF - Luis Gonzalez .271/24/79/90 OF - Gary Matthews .255/17/55/72 OF - Matt Stairs .275/13/55/66 Position - Name W/L/K's/ERA SP - Dontrelle Willis 22/10/170/2.63 SP - Jon Garland 18/10/115/3.50 SP - Jon Lieber 17/13/149/4.20 SP - Matt Clement 13/6/146/4.57 SP - Jamie Moyer 13/7/102/4.28 Position - Name W/L/S/ERA RP - Todd Jones 1/5/40/2.10 RP - Kyle Farnsworth 1/1/16/2.19 This years team is loaded with position players who are past their prime, but the pitching is not bad (IMO).
  22. I haven't seen anything on this posted yet. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/minors/051007milbas.html BA has posted its minor league all-star team. JVB made the team as the top relief pitcher. Here is what they had to say. Ricky Nolasco was selected as a starting pitcher on the second team.
  23. From BA. They have chosen their minor league All-star team. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/minors/051007milbas.html Hopefully these guys, with a good draft can propel me into the play-offs for the first time.

  25. What is the keeper point total? 2500??? When is the deadline for deciding upon who to keep? I assume the same rule is enforce as last season, where you can't pick up free agents now. You can only acquire players via a trade. ????
