  1. I'm on a streak of playing GHS, Buddiga, Harry's Budcrew, Quakers and Lynx. That's pretty harsh. I'm glad I'm getting Woody back. Now I just need Sheff back, Liriano in the rotation and I'll be set. :D I have a few tough ones coming up too. Starting with Raw. Earlier this season I thought Raw would be easy pickings, but not lately. Santana has been coming to life and I actually benched Randy Johnson for ineffectiveness.
  2. And how do we know you are who you say you are...hmmmmmm? :D

You know a team stinks, when you are managing your fantasy team you look for pitchers that are opposing them (any pitcher will do), because you will almost certainly get a complete game shut out.
  4. Yep, you have to take McCarthy out of your pen. You can wait until he is officially removed from the DL to activate Contreras. But once he is off the DL, he has to be moved off of yours. I should have worded my question differently. McCarthy is taking Contreras's place. McCarthy has a two start week unless, Contreras comes back and takes McCarthy's spot. So since I am not gaining a start, I can start McCarthy this week and he gets two starts or Contreras comes back and I get one start from McCarthy and one from Contreras right??
  5. 1) If McCarthy is going to start this week, then I have to take him out of my pen, right? 2) Contreras is scheduled to come off the DL next week on the 20th against the Cubs. Can I keep him on the DL the entire week? Can I wait until I am certain that he is coming off the DL before I put him in my line-up?
  6. Who traded Albert to you?
  7. Looks like the Quakers are going 5-1. That is good, but one reason I am 5-1 is that I have the league's toughest defense.
  8. Arg .. the injury bug has struck. My staff ace, Contreras may need to go on the 15 day DL. If so I will replace him with McCarthy tomorrow. BTW - Does CBS have something against me??? Why am I listed so far down in the standings?
  9. Found this in the Daily Dish on Baseball America.
  10. Yahoo. It appears that with a little extra effort from my players this week that I have wrestled the lead from Abuck for the stingest defense in Roadkill. :stickman:
  11. I have a real conflict of interest here guys. Every time Duke faces the Cubs I feel a smile about to break out on my face. I wouldn't suppose that one of you would want to trade for him so that I can be relieved of my guilt :smokin: On the other hand, so much for my vaunted pen. Krod has been OK, but I had to get rid of Hoffman in order to adjust my line-up for a gimpy Beltran, Cordero has lost his closer's role, McCarthy has been Jeckel and Hyde, and I pick up Saito over the weekend and he proceeds to have his worst performance of the season last night in celebration of that fact. Right now all I want is positive points from my pen.
  12. Good, but I don't think so. I seem to remember Randy Johnson pitching a perfect game once and his point total alone was above 100 (maybe my memory is playing with me). I seem to remember someone had a 4 homerun game from one player once.

Looks like Tim is going to beat my most points of the week mark of 352.25 tomorrow.

I think it is the Danger Bees who are missing. Edit: A little late I guess. BTW - Who is managing the Danger Bees now?

Why does the scoreboard have the DB Cooper Flyers playing SOS and Buddiga? Do they have a double header?
  16. Is it possible that Clark would want to renegotiate his contract in return for waiving his No Trade clause. It is my understanding that he signed for so little so that he could stay in Arizona.

    Week 4

Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. After setting the Roadkill high for points last week, my team is having a tough time this week. The only thing saving me is that my opponent, the gentleman with the burning bulbs, is having a worse week than me. Who would figure that Ramirez and Peavy would be in such a funk.
  18. I was unaware of the contract considerations. I have now changed my mind. Unless the Blue Jays eat a very large part of Hinse's contract or we get a substantial prospect (Adam Lind would be nice:), I would not make the deal.
  19. Picked up this rumor from the Blue Jays board on ESPN. Would make sense to me. Eric can play first and would provide a great bat off our bench when DLee returns. The Blue Jays could use some more help in their pen and they need to let Rios play full time. What do you think? Sorry about the confusion
  20. The Cubs are catching on to the OBP revolution? Sprowl's best asset is his ability to draw a walk. The ability to draw a walk is seems to be Sprowl's only asset. Outside of his all-star year in 2003, his minor league numbers have been horrible. He's already 26 and this is his first experience above the A-ball level. I just don't see the point in swapping someone who likely has no future at the ML level in Sprowl, for someone that has atleast a better shot at contributing in Farina. With Richie and Reyes already at C, Sprowl doesn't even really have a spot with the team. I guess he'll sit on the bench and come in every week or so and try to draw a walk. Is coaching in Sprowl's future???

    Abuck

oops...thought i read somewhere that he had a bad second half. or maybe it was a bad second half of the second half. either way, he's a bit of a question mark. :D So, how's my question mark in the outfield doing so far? :D I see that Bonds is doing well  His OBP is pretty solid. 8-[ I am of two minds on Bonds. Part of me wants him to do well so it can be said that steroids wasn't that big of factor in his homerun total. After all he can't be using them now with all the attention, testing, etc... Part of me wants him to fall on his face like Sosa did last year. Proving to the public that even Bonds is not above the law. Maybe Selig will not publically challenge Bonds, but the use of steriods will not be tolerated even if it means the loss of the money generated by the chase for Aaron's record. BTW - Would you be interested in a Mueller for Pujols swap?? I hear Pujols will never amount to too much :^o

  23. I am disappointed with Defendis. I thought he would do better. True he lacked the speed to play center and the power to play a corner outfield spot, but he showed a nice line-drive stroke when I saw him with Boise...Oh well.

    Week 3

I hope I don't jinx things, but this looks to be a good week for the Quakers. With 269 points, I have almost a 40 point lead and the most points in the league. This despite the fact that my best player, Beltran, has been benched most of the week with a sore hammy. My offense has been leading the way with Biggio, Tracy, and Gonzalez having big weeks. To top things off, I have three more starts tomorrow. Let the good times roll :D

    Week 3

Note to self - Never boast about your pitching staff. As soon as you do they fall apart. Randy Johnson was tagged by Toronto tonight. At least I can get some satisfaction from the fact that Rios was one of the players that lit RJ up.
