    I would say having an above average intelligence has quite a bit to do with being a successful control pitcher. Ability to understand psychology, certain metrics, etc. Why is that so crazy? Its not like they're robots out there with no intuition.

    Is there any kind of metric or way to determine how good a pitcher is at hitting his spots? Hendricks seems to have amazing control -- combined with that Dartmouth intellect....Ive been soooo surprisingly impressed so far. What gets he hopeful is his ability to get outs doesnt seem totally dependent on throwing so hard he's at risk of inevitable injury. What a cheap, young, and good group of pitchers in Arrieta, Turner, Ramirez, Rondon, and Hendricks.

    watching the mlb.tv free game (indians dbacks) and I dont know what I expected, but oh my god the boredom. the announcers are channeling their inner joe buck, and that stadium is DEAD. looks like 300 people there. also wow is arizonas lineup abyssmal one baez AB has more excitement than that entire game
