  1. there you go illini fans... a winnable game against VT
  2. Im really psyched to possibly play UNLV in the second round. :x
  3. Wisconsin is playing ugly. And by ugly... i mean bad.
  4. I would think that with A&M's early exit from the Big 12 tourney that Georgetown would have just earned a #2 for the NCAA tourney with this win. i think they got a 2 seed with this as well....very good team and one to watch for in the tourney. Definitely. Watching them the last few weeks has been an eye opener. Their size creates some ridiculous matchup problems - I mean, I had a huge (overconfident) Gator fan tell me yesterday the team he didn't want to face was Georgetown. exactly....depending on the bracket they get dropped in, they are probably gonna be in my final 4 when i fill out my tourney. G-town looks awesome. For some reason I have seen three of their games, and they look so complete. Their front court is massive. Jeff Green is great, and Roy Hibbard is a monster. If Wallace can continue to make shots like he has... danger!
  5. well... msu and indiana are locks arn't they. But it does bring up a good point, is there not a more deserving team then either purdue or illnois.
  6. That is awful, the refs should have to explain that to the miami locker room. I think you misunderstood. Miami did win the game, but they did have a chance to lose the game because the refs arbitrarily put .6 seconds on the clock rather than actually make the proper decision. I really think they went in there, saw he took it with 1.2 seconds on the clock, thought it through, and said well we can't take away Miami's basket, but I feel bad for Akron, so let's just half that 1.2 seconds and give Akron a chance. Seems fair. Why not just institute a do-over?? OH!!!!
  7. That is awful, the refs should have to explain that to the miami locker room.
  8. I agree with not going out in free agency. This market is ridiculous. If I had a choice of signing some marginal player or saving money to resign vasher or t-harris, well I think that the latter would be better. This is a very simplistic argument but I still think its true.
  9. Any big 12 team against the MVC????? I know you're being hyperbolic, but are you kidding me??? Nebraska, Colorado, Baylor, and Iowa St. are all worse than EVERY team in the MVC. The middle of the Big XII is no better than the middle of the MVC. Basically you've got a superior top of the conference for the Big XII and a superior bottom for the MVC. MVC vs. Big 12 on the season: 3-3 I love this type of arrogance from big conference teams and their fans. The comparison between the Big 12 and MVC is interesting. Obviously the Big 12 has three really good teams, but after that they have two decent teams, and the rest are garbage. The MVC is even in a down year, but SIU could beat any team in Big 12(and I dont mean that in the "any team could beat any team" sort of way). I mean that SIU is a very good team. After them, you have Creighton, who are playing at really high level; and Missouri State who lost to OK St by 3 in overtime, while Kansas St lost by 14, and has way more meaningful wins. A couple guys I know from Oklahoma gave me crap last year before the tournament, until my school made them look silly.
  10. Up your ASS.... We are 11-6 in conference, clearly showed we are at least 4th in the Big 12, yet we still get no respect. I love dilusional Big Televen fans..... Go win at Texas. Guarantee it wouldn't happen. So we lose to KU 2x....but only lose to aTm by 4 at their house, while we only had Walker for 5 mins of the game......no, that didn't matter.. We came back from that, without our best player, to win 12 of 16 and finish 4th in the Big 12...... If KSU is NOT in, I'll drive to Indy and show MANY people my ASS! Their statistical numbers are very poor. They played an easy schedule, and it is going to end up burning them. It's not a biased opinion that's keeping them out, it's their profile. I see where you're coming from, yet I don't..... We're #4 in the BIG 12. YES, a conference that has supposedly 3 teams that could contend, yet we beat one of those 3 at home, and are the ONLY team that has beat them at home in something like the last 25 games...hmmmm.... I understand the lack of out of conference play, however, we beat USC to win a mid season tourney..... at a NEUTRAL sight of course. You tell me another team from a MAJOR conference that went on the road like we did, and I'll respond.... However, there ISN'T ONE. We went on the road for the majority of our OOC... and played the same in conference as KU, but still get no respect. I find it hilarious. I will bet ANYONE on this board that we're in... If anyone has the balls..... A LOT of people here know whom I am, and know I'll pay if wrong. Anyone wish to wager??? If we dont' get in, it's the biggest BS of ANY major conference any time in the recent past... For example.. Out of the major conferences... 169/169 teams have gotten in with... 4th place in the conference 10 conference wins 20 wins overall.. If KSU is the one team (after winning against the "for sure" team not in the top 3 in the conference), then the NCAA has issues that need to be addressed. However, after the 97/98 football debacle where we were #3 in the nation but didn't get a BCS game, I don't trust anything.... 4th in the #7 conference in the nation. I guarantee you the 4th place team in the MVC (the 6th place conference) will not get their team in, even though they have much better statistical numbers than KSU does. That being said, one more win will definitely put them in as they'll be in the title game. But they are definitely a bubble team. If the five of us on here saw how bad their stats measure up to some of the other bubble teams, I'm sure guys that are actually on the committee will notice that as well. RPI is a JOKE.. Put the 3 best MVC (I went to WSU for a while, so I'm not totally KSU biased) vs the 3 top Big 12 teams, and what do you get???? I haven't ONCE heard of ESPN talking about a MVC team having the probability to win it all... HOWEVER, I have definitely heard message board/ESPN talk that KU, aTm, and UT all could be HIGH seeds.... hmmmm.. coincidence???? RPI is absurd, as I'd put ANY Big 12 team up against the MVC with NO worry about who would win.. (Maybe minus KU as they like to lose against low seeds :) ) No offense, but K-state would be the 3rd best team in the MVC.
  11. Is there any chance Amaker isn't fired? He's been terrible, how has he lasted this long? He makes Mike Davis look like John Wooden. I have two good friends who went to UM, and they said he probably wont, because of his recruiting ties in Detroit. Which I guess means he get the cream of the crop in the state. Also, they would owe him a ton of money if they canned him now.
  12. I don't know who Tony "Mustang" Scheiffler is, maybe you're referring to Joe Klopfenstein? Byrd was recently arrested for suspicion of DUI and is also facing charges of assault and armed criminal action after a nightclub fight in downtown St. Louis. He only had 2 catches last year, and is listed 3rd on their depth chart. Klopfenstein seemed pretty good to me as a rookie from what I saw, but McMichael is a proven pass-catching TE that justs adds another dimension to the Rams' dangerous offense. Maybe they're going to run a 2-TE system some this year? Sorry I got my 2nd round TE mixed up. I meant Joe Klopfenstein, Tony Scheffler is the TE for the Broncos.
  13. Can someone with more knowledge of the STL Rams, tell me why they signed Randy McMichael? Didnt they draft Dom Bryd and Tony "Mustang" Scheiffler last year?
  14. Todd Johnson is a Ram. He signed a four year deal. First Cam Worrell, now Todd Johnson. The bear lose any more safeties, they are going to have to bring John Mangum out of retirement.
  15. The Chicago Bears Select.....AMOBI OKOYE DT Louisville Wont happen... but the thought makes me collapse in happiness.
  16. No one is throwing more than 3 plus innings yet. It doesnt surprise me that Looper will be decent this year. Typical scrap heap cardinals.
  17. NPOY should be Durant, no questions asked. No doubt. Can I say Tucker should be NPOY over durant, if you all recognize that I am a die hard badger basketball fan? But..... if the Badgers, without Butch still go to the final four, and texas doesnt, I think Tucker should get it. right now though.... Durant is.... amazing doesnt cover it. You can, I just don't think you have much of an arguement. The freshman has put up better numbers than the 5th year senior leading a team starting 4 true freshman and 1 sophmore. I didnt say Durant isnt POY now. But I dont care if he scores 100 points and 40 rebounds. If Texas goes nowhere in the tourney and Badgers go to the final four, Tucker is POY.
  18. Go to espn's pod center. You will be able to listen to his show whenever.
  19. I defer to the judgement of the board. My college's baseball team is 0-6. Im not exactly in college baseball land.
  20. I know that. Just trying to make all you fans of bubble teams feel better.
  21. I'm pretty much with this. I'll take Olsen, but after that I wouldn't waste a decently high pick on anyone. Maybe we can pick someone up that was undrafted thats just as good as Gabe Reid. That shouldn't be too difficult. I think this would require a change in philosophy. Clark's weakness comes from poor blocking for the most part, poor route running and poor YAC and often poor hands. The tight end in the sytem acts like a safety valve and YAC ability and route running are the most important. I think the "burner" tight ends are overrated and will be drafted high, too high to get enough value out of these types in the Bears offense to justify a higher pick. Not to argue with you Kaiser, we have done that enough, but actually Clark is regarded as one of the best blocking tight ends in the NFL. I think the whole burner thing is just to have another viable weapon on offense, which is what they need. I think you could have both Clark and Olsen on the field and would create alot of matchup problems. I would be annoyed if they drafted another WR, you dont need a high round runningback, plus you dont get much more useless than john gilmore and gabe reid. You would be annoyed if they picked another WR? We have an aging Moose (who has been actually dissapointing to his contract, not that I expected anything different, he was a need-based sign), a fairly one-dimensional Berrian, a constantly injured Mark Bradley that seems to be more prospect than reality, and Rashied Davis...who's merely O.K. If we drafted someone like Anthony Gonzalez I wouldn't complain. Great route runner, great attitude, great hands. I think comparatively with the rest of the NFL, the Bears have a solid WR corp. Not great but not bad either. They have a solid possession receiver, consistent deep threat, and good slot receiver. Add a Greg Olson or Zach Miller at TE with Dez Clark. That is a pretty good receiving corp. Then again, I agree, I really really like Gonzalez.
  22. Bobby Wade... 5 year 15 million dollar deal with the Vikings... The NFL has now surpassed the MLB in craziness.
  24. Linardi had Wright State in already for the last month in his projections. Im very happy Wright State won. Horizon gets two teams, and the conference is slowly but surely upping its profile.
