  1. I hope the bears take a look at Chris Naole. He is very good when healthy, and we can move garza to left guard to compete with beekman. jake scott would also be a good look. we need to sign a lineman or another receiver.
  2. Am I wrong for staying on the Matt Toeina bandwagon?
  3. well get the tissues ready, because some tears are in your future I should also add that I'll be pretty surprised. I haven't seen any strong, valid indications that Angelo is looking at a RB with that pick. there are strong indications that i will take a trip to lake forrest and hit him over the head with a ball pin hammer. LINE LINE LINE LINE LINE LINE LINE OFFENSIVE LINE!!!!!
  4. He was fairly similar to what I thought he would be for the Bears. Not bad, but not good. If this was a very good team that just needed hand holding at QB, he could have done the job. Unfortunately, the Bears needed more than hand holding at QB. oh, come on, you were drinking the griese kool-aid along with everyone else after the win over philly. you even disagreed with my statement depicting him as an ordinary journeyman qb. haha. I was never on the Griese bandwagon and everyone on WCFB knows! thats because I drive the bus for the rex grossman fan club.
  5. I am now officially PRAYING Mark Bradley pans out That is an offensive amount of money for Berrian. PUN!!! Peace be with you my friend!
  6. Berrian is not worth the money he received. This team has deep threat receivers, what they need is consistent possession receivers who can catch the ball in traffic. Moose couldn't get open and Berrian didn't consistently catch the ball.
  7. Hopefully, we can get him on the cheap.
  8. Against the Braves too right... He hit 99 on a fastball then made, I think Marcus Giles, knees buckle with that ridiculous breaking ball of his.
  9. That last point is a myth. They didn't have a running game in 2006. Sub 4 yards per attempt. Pathetic. The D can be dominant. Contrary to Peter King's absurd opinion, they were devestated by injury in 2007. He wouldn't take much to vault them back up to dominant status. Likewise, while they currently don't have an offensive line, there's no reason why by September 2008 they can't have a decent one, and that is going to be the most important aspect affecting your third point. The running game might not have been great in 2006, but it was still somewhat existent. Enough to make teams somewhat respect the PA pass. Also considering the fact that the Bears don't figure to be major players for any top FA lineman, and todays commment by Angelo in the paper that he prefers veteran olineman(basically indicating that if an Olineman is drafted high, he won't start), I think a capable Oline by next season is a pipe dream. The running game sucked in 2006 and nobody respected it. Grossman was able to lead the offense through the air early, but then teams decided to concentrate on stopping the pass because they never had to worry about Jones, or Benson, killing them. I don't think it sucked... but it isn't this bastion of supremacy like some of us would like to remember. That is why im conflicted now.. I want someone like turner or mendenhall but it wont make one bit of difference with this offensive line.
  10. Lorenzo Neal... And Dvorcek hurt his knee on punt return duty. sigh
  11. It's not just Brown. They lost people at every level of the defense. The loss to Dallas killed them physically and ruined the season. SD- Lost Dusty D and Mike Brown... BTW the best rb in the nfl ran 17 times for 25 yards. Dallas- Lost Vasher, Tommie Harris hurt is knee, and Rube Brown lost an arm and an ankle. So then against Det- We blame grossman, play Griese who then throws 3 ints, and Kitna burns a secondary starting 3 new players, oh and btw... Kevin Payne breaks his arm... I can continue.
  12. i don't buy that. if they can stay healthy at key positions, they can win the north. every team has holes, every team has injuries. this bear team has enough talent to compete. i'd like to see them re-sign briggs and move that line around a bit, but i'm not writing next season off by any means. I agree. They aren't that different from the 06 team. In 2006 we had a dominant D. We don't anymore In 2006 we had a serviable oline Now it is amoung the worst in the NFL In 2006 we had a running game Now it is amoung the worst in the NFL After Brown and Harris were injured, our D was far from dominant in 2006 The second one is correct and the third one is dependent on the second one.
  13. i don't buy that. if they can stay healthy at key positions, they can win the north. every team has holes, every team has injuries. this bear team has enough talent to compete. i'd like to see them re-sign briggs and move that line around a bit, but i'm not writing next season off by any means. I agree. They aren't that different from the 06 team. Me either, I still believe that if both Mike and Ruben Brown do not get hurt it would have been a slightly different team. or if berrian would have caught that sure touchdown at the end of the first half against dallas or id hester would have caught that sure touchdown against the giants....... :banghead:
  14. haha neither is branch!!! the nfl is funny with their contracts. I hope you aren't implying that the NBA and MLB don't have ridiculous contracts for players that aren't that good? nope.
  15. enough with the polar bear crap from steve lavin and brent musburger... go badgers
  16. haha neither is branch!!! the nfl is funny with their contracts.
  17. olsen should be playing more of the slot next year.
  18. I like him, but at the price he will command at 14 with the line problems, why not sign mike turner and keep the pick?
  19. For what its worth Pep Hamilton is running QB drills at the combine. Again, ill say how average these qb's look. I will be hopping mad if we take one earlier than the 3rd round. One Qb who looks good is Josh Johnson from San Diego. Who ran a 4.4 and has a cannon.
  20. i like it. this team is many, much bigger holes to worry about than qb. with a one year deal for rex, i won't be surprised to see the bears take a qb on the first day of the draft. i'm speculating griese will be cut, grossman and orton will "battle" for the starting job and the rookie will be the 3rd qb. \:D/ \:D/ :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: =D> =D> AWESOME... JA is working the WCFB playbook to a T.
  21. OMG the new america's game episode for the colts.
  22. idk. Johnson doesnt impress me. just give BB his money. if he doenst perform as if he is worth it next year, let him go. in the meantime, work with Bradly and drafting. its really as simple as this, you can sign jesus to play wr for this team, but none of it matters if the line stays the same. (which it isnt... ja has my seal of approval so far).
  23. With competant QB play, yes. Yes he does. He just needs to be more consistent with this. Now and then he does, but he has also show the ablitity to make some amazing plays as well. Like the play to win the game vs Denver. Berrian has also shown the commitment in the offseason to becoming a stronger more complete receviever. I should have stated the above opinions on Bernard are exaggerated. None of these answers are rebuttals.. you essentially agree that berrian isnt a no.1 reciever, he doesnt consistent run crisp routes, and he does give up on plays. for every bronco game there was a sd game or a dallas game to bookend how he cost the team with his mental lapses. he isnt a no.1 reciever. for that money, either your a no.1 reciever or your not. i am a big berrian fan, but not for the money he will get.
  24. i thought adams played very well this season. AA is Adam Archuleta. ithat's why you don't post freaking initials. http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/b/b6/200px-J_Walter_Weatherman_-_AD.jpg
