    Someone on Twitter that tweets like they have a direct connection to the FO. I just ignored them at first but then some other Cubs fans/bloggers I follow interact with them like they were credible-ish. As for that guy... [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] MLB radio this morning kept talking about a rumor that the Cubs and Cards are going at Arrieta the hardest. They shot down the Cards side of it making no sense. But it got me thinking that Boras is trying to drive up a price on the Cubs if they are negotiating at all.

    Wife and her family are all Mariners family from Olympia, so I wouldn't mind seeing this happen. Plus he will kill it at Safeco.

    How are you able to navigate to this website and yet can't find anything on Ohtani signing? I went to ESPN's baseball home page and the Angel's team page and they had nothing. I don't use twitter. I would have thought that the Angels would have something pre written for when they signed him. Neither ESPN or the Angles thought this was possible so nothing was prepped.

    Sure, but I am becoming irrationally confident that Harper is a Cub in 2019. I’m having a hard time not picturing Ohtani and Harper in the 2019 lineup.

    Haven't seen anything on money yet. His Coors splits were awful, he has to beyond happy now.

    Today is Jed's birthday so makes sense to Ohtani to pick the Cubs today.

    That’s why I don’t think he gives a damn about the one time bonus. Sure it’s nice, but long term it’s a small percentage of his overall pay. He can come in and be the highest endorsed player in MLB on opening day if his agent does a good job. Those endorsements are probably worth more on the Cubs or Dodgers and multi year.

    Quick answer is yes, that is wrong. Longer answer is that Bruce Arena was hired because qualification is a zero sum game. Games like last night go a long way to guaranteeing qualification. The point is essential to getting to that magic number of 15, but also in keeping the top seed, Mexico, honest. Now they have to continue to go hard against teams we might be competing with for the 2-4 spots for a while longer. Also, if your soccer knowledge blows, you definitely don't have an understanding of the baggage the every CONCACAF team carries into Azteca. A point at Azteca is still incredibly significant, even though we'd like to be at the point where we feel like the US can get a result in that stadium against a Mexico team we feel is our equal. The aesthetic difference between playing to win and playing to tie can be jarring and weird, and it's not super fun, but it's better than losing 2-1. Its odd that Mexico only had 1 shot on goal and the US only had 1 the last 84 minutes plus injury time. I was really worried for the 2nd half, but the adjustments made were effective. Beasley played much better, and Acosta did really well.
