  1. I'm liking the confidence of Chandler, though he seemed a little lost when the ball came right to him outside the box. Rodgers has served up some crap so far tonight. Jozy looks strong, holding his ground well.
  2. TCU kicker is horrible too.
  3. Shea creates two chances in the 1st 7 minutes. Landon has to finish that.
  4. This is what Baylor gets trying to go conservative. First one to 60 wins.
  5. This is how you get on the Heisman ballot in week 1.
  6. I may just be listening to the wrong people, but I've heard very few people give Baylor much of a chance tonight. I'm really excited about it since I think it'll be a lot closer than that - I could easily see Baylor knocking off TCU. And I'll probably be pulling for Baylor too since TCU isn't a mid-major anymore (at least long term) so them busting up the BCS wouldn't be as meaningful. I know nothing of Baylor this year, but it seems like they always have the talent for an upset. They were a decent team (certainly by Baylor football standards) last year and Robert Griffin is a fantastic player. I'm not real familiar with this year's version, though. I actually like Robert Griffin more than the other standard dual threat QB's like Cam Newton. He could run a pro style or West Coast offense. Baylor should have beaten A&M last year if nto for a major 2nd half choke job. Assuming Seastrunk gains eligibility this season that will give them a legit running threat.
  7. Looking forward to TCU/Baylor tonight. Robert Griffin is one of the most fun players in the country to watch.
  8. I would agree with this. Roster should be "frozen" to some extent at the end of the regular season. Maybe we should be allowed to expand rosters for the playoffs? I'm fine with this. Or expand the DL during the playoffs.
  9. QB play in the past at Wisconsin has been very dull leading to this belief. That will change this year.
  10. Beltre activated off the DL, Ryan Roberts dropped all together.
  11. How [expletive] stupid are the players at Ohio St. 3 more players suspended for taking benefits of less than $300 this year. Here's an idea, don't take anything, not even a happy meal.
  12. Massive move. Liverpool are nuts to lose him. Btw, shnsa, Park Chu Young sucks. Yeah I expect next to nothing from him.
  13. And they caved and got the Arteta deal done. I won't even recognize this team anymore after today. Not seeing Rosicky in the starting XI is always a big +. I like the new Park Chu Young chant.
  14. I didn't realize the Big 12 was an academic powerhouse. It has more to do with how many players per year for Saban can ask for special permission to be accepted into school. Even Clowney admitted that growing up a Texas fan he wouldn't be able to qualify academically and never was even recruited. There are several HS kids in Texas that UT won't recruit like Trey Metoyer last season, who committed to OU yet couldn't pass the required Juco classes to get in there and is now going to a military prep school for a year.
  15. Not sure as to why I am getting 3.5 points for Verlander. He is set to start on the 2nd, and looking at the box score he didn't pitch anything out of relief today. Commish can you remove those?
  16. Would it be too mean of me to be entertained if the SEC secretly courts Texas as the 14th team after A&M? In reality it will probably be Virginia Tech, with the ACC adding UCF or something. Texas has never wanted anything to do with SEC, crappy academics and the worst history of cheating of any other conference.
  17. Sounds like the Arteta deal is dead now.
  18. I've been checking this one too just for the Arsenal pipedream. No mention of Dempsey though. http://news.arseblog.com/2011/08/transfer-deadline-day-arseblog-news-understands/
  19. It's really going to temper those expectations when you start the season 0-2. ha, we'll see. i can't wait to ruin um's first night game. and another 5-star d-lineman commits to nd today. I think it was an o-lineman. ESPN has him as an OT, Rivals a DT. Either way they both have him as a 4 Star not 5 Star ;-).
  20. Arsenal rumors are all across the board from Hazard to Honda. Honda appears to be dead, Hazard is unlikely, but nothing new on Dempsey that I can find.
  21. that group only has 175 points to work with, don't see any way they don't get to 2000 unless hanley and morneau stay hurt and a couple of others get hurt. you'll likely be able to make it without keeping napoli, though. i already know that i'm losing a year of exemption on trout, kipnis, goldschmidt and rizzo, so now i'm left to hope that none of them reach 200 ABs and lose minor league exemption too. Your going to want to trade for Verlander anyway to give your team a shot next season, so I'll just take a couple of those guys from you and you don't have to worry about AB's ;-).
  22. Guessing Ruiz is contingent on Dempsey.
  23. Any chicks drinking MD were about as slutty as they come.
  24. This! Chamakh could be heading out on loan too.
  25. As part of the standard OU jinx
