    Indeed. What happened? Hudson beaned Soriano on the first pitch of the game last night. Pretty obvious it was intentional. Well, just for the record. Soriano didn't get "beaned"....He was hit on the upper arm. That is how a rumor quickly becomes fact. Intentional? I have no doubt. But he didn't get "beaned"...The arm and the coconut are two different body parts. Beaned is just a loose term people use when a hitter got intentionally thrown at. Atleast that's what I've always heard. If he doesn't get his arm up by his head it's a beaning. So maybe it officially wasn't a beaning but for all intents and purposes it was.

    It was in the draft. Throwing money around wouldn't hurt and I'm afraid the next owner might skimp on the funds. if they are going to invest that much money in acquiring the franchise, why would they skimp on funds? Maybe because the Cubs are known as a Cash cow win or lose.

    It is coming from the money that is going to be used to bring in other players though. Just because we aren't directly responsible for the budget doesn't mean that it doesn't affect us as fans, or that we shouldn't take it into consideration. For years Cub fans have cried the Cubs don't do what it takes to get in top teir FA's. They finally do it but people still aren't happy.

    Anyone hear the interview with the head of the officials on XM the other day. As it turns out they rarely if ever make mistakes :roll: Honestly, Why is it that baseball is the only sport with such TERRIBLE officiating. You ain't seen SEC officiating in ANY sport. Blehhh.... All sports have terrible officiating. It's the worst thing about sports.
