  1. I didn't notice, but god he can bring it!
  2. Assuming Pujols gets 4 AB's a game from here on out, he could go 1-96 and still hit .300.
  3. Pujols will end the year with an OPS over 1.100 and will probably not win the MVP unless he hits .370.
  4. I hope I don't sound like a homer, but to me this game wasn't close. It was like going up 10-3 in a baseball game in the 6th and throwing in a crappy reliever.
  5. Wow Go ECU For some reason I've always had an irrational hatred for VT. I think it's because of Vick.
  6. Motte is excellent as well, but wasn't really on the radar until this season. Anyone who doesn't know about Chris Perez, just doesn't follow baseball's minor leagues. Chris Perez is a borderline top 100 prospect, I don't know that many folks even on NSBB would know many guys in that 50-100 range. Can you name the Cubs top 3 prospects? I don't know about RedVerbs, but I would say Pie, Hill and Vitters. If you don't want to count Hill, replace him with Ceda. As far as guys that I think will make the club and be contributors I would say Cashner, Veal and Guzman. Just not too impressed by any position players in the system. Pie is intriguing and has put up some great numbers before, but he just seems really really raw. Not impressed with Vitters or is he just too far away for you to consider? I actually just blanked on him. He does have a ton of upside, especially if he can get that walk rate up and turn some of those doubles into home runs.

  8. Perez is pretty widely known to be an excellent closer prospect. But I don't think that he's even the best closer prospect in the STL farm system. Jason Motte has 105/25 K/BB in 63 AAA innings.
  9. hard to say. i came up with a list of some "gimmes" for the top 25, given who made 26-50 and the honorable mention choices. Frankly, I was pretty shocked that David Price didn't make the top 50 - I had considered him a gimme until I saw that he was on the honorable mention list: Erik Bedard Clay Buchholz Matt Cain Robinson Cano Adam Jones Chipper Jones Cliff Lee Jonathan Papelbon Jhonny Peralta David Price Ben Sheets Troy Tulowitzki Justin Verlander 1. jose reyes, new york mets 2. david wright, new york mets 3. chase utley, phillies 4. ryan howard, phillies 5. hanley ramirez, marlins 6. albert pujols, cards 7. c.c. sabathia, brewers 8. ryan braun, brewers 9. jay bruce, reds 10. clayton kershaw, dodgers 11. tim lincecum, giants 12. brandon webb, d'backs 13. a-rod, yankees 14. josh beckett, red sox 15. evan longoria, d-rays 16. justin morneau, twins 17. joe mauer, twins 18. miguel cabrera, tigers 19. grady sizemore, indians 20. josh hamilton, rangers 21. felix hernandez, seattle other possibilities: corey hart, brewers justin upton, d'backs adrian gonzalez, padres aramis ramirez, cubs carlos quentin, white sox jason bay, red sox a lot of this is off the top of my head, so i might've forgotten a couple of people. Utley and Howard ahead of Pujols? Have you forgotten how good Pujols actually is? Not to mention both Utley and Howard are older?
  10. Manny crushes one 3-0
  11. Cesar's line vs lefties this year: .308 .379 .375
  12. LOL Lopez is starting in left field tonight. Seriously, left soapdropping field. And I don't remember anyone ever ranting about the awesomeness of Brendan Ryan.
  13. Bears fans?
  14. I hate Dusty baker
  15. It was Yadier Molina running
  16. They have to. Carp is pumping strikes in there.
  17. I know, it's just a little lightning.
  18. I'm a Cardinal fan and I can't see Lou Brock as a top 7 player. He's about as completely overrated as they come.
  19. They're having fun, but don't go overboard.
  20. good thing you're not ignoring the next 6 years of his career, because that would look awfully ridiculous. Yeah, the .927, .830 (injury shortened), .602 (injury shortened), .848, 1.022 years were weak. note that his highest two OPS seasons have come at age 29 in AAA and age 30 at the major league level - both of which happened after he joined the cardinal organization. he profiled as a hitter like jose guillen, not manny ramirez. Even Jose Guillen had a .900+ OPS season, and you're a year off on his ages.
  21. You're over thinking things Raisin. He's a Cardinal.
  22. good thing you're not ignoring the next 6 years of his career, because that would look awfully ridiculous. Yeah, the .927, .830 (injury shortened), .602 (injury shortened), .848, 1.022 years were weak.
  23. Yeah, there's no way that Ludwick might actually be a good player. It's not like he was OPSing .900+ in AAA at 23 or anything.
  24. Fastball 92-94 Plus Change Decent Curve Fastball-Change is his bread and butter. Locates well, likes to pitch up in the zone with the fastball. A complete steal by the Indians IMO. Cards tried to make him throw a 2 seamer, and he just didn't have a good one and couldn't locate it. Then they decided he wasn't good enough to play (in a rebuilding year) over Looper or Pineiro and banished him to the bullpen and AAA despite having only pitched 200 MLB innings and having more success than the other guys that kept getting called up this year. He was just very poorly handled by the Cardinals.
