  1. Seconded Hanley Ramirez is a pretty good player for the fish.
  2. 1. John Schuerholz 2. Mark Shapiro 3. Terry Ryan 4. Walk Jocketty 5. Billy Beane 6. Jim Hendry I put Beane at #5 because there isn't much to choose from. I think some of his luster from MoneyBall has worn off and he's made his mistakes. Somewhere, Hendry has to start getting credit for a pretty good offseason. Yes he blew it in 2006 but Wood and Prior had a lot to do with that. Lilly and DeRosa have been excellent and although Soriano is overpaid, he's been a stud.
  3. I got scammed a few years ago, and I know others that have been scammed by scalpers. I refuse to buy anything from a scalper and usually go to stubhub or ticketsnow for difficult tickets. My buddy left work early to do standing room, bought the ticket from a scalper and was refused at the gate because the ticket was for the previous day. Same guy got back to work the following day only to get screamed at by his boss for skipping out the previous day. NEVER use scalpers
  4. well it certainly isn't but he's slugging well and his OBP is off the charts. I think it will come, just a long road back from a broken wrist from what i've heard. takes along time before you can regain full strength and sometimes you subconsciously favor it. Problem is that he's hitting for less power as the year goes on. Yep, after an unsustainable April, he's been an 850 OPS guy in May/June and is sub 600 in July. He's not killing the team, but they need him to do more, and I'm not sure he can. It's July 13th so the month isn't half over. Not to mention that there hasn't a game for 4 of those days.
  5. Waaaaohhhhhh oohhhhhh waaaoooohhhh go Sotooooo go Sotoooooo
  6. I am disappointed with that run scoring double DLee!
  7. Has Biggio said that he's going to retire after this year? That move to call out Bagwell after hit 3,000 was perhaps the classiest move I've ever seen in professional baseball. Biggio is a class act.
  8. After 4 days off, the pen is rested. Why not pinch hit for Marmol there?
  9. Waaaahhhhhhhoooooh oooohhhhh waaaaaooohhhhh Go Sotoooooooo go Sotooooooo
  10. I think "wild" is a bit dramatic. What works for you Webster? Excited? Jumpy? Animated? Wound up? "kanoodling"
  11. Good outing though. He needs the pen to hold em here.
  12. Fans are idiots at judging fly balls. Yeah, it wasn't even close. I don't get why people get so worked up about it. When you are at the game, and it's bases loaded, you are going to react to anything put in play. A lot of the seats at Wrigley have the roof too so a popup goes out of sight for a while. All you have is the angle and the sound of the bat to go by. The overreaction doesn't bother me.
  13. Unless the top of the 7th is a very quick half inning, this is likely the last inning for Z.
