  1. Woody is scheduled to throw 50-55 tomorrow.
  2. Brewers announcers are excited about the season and seem confident that their team can make the playoffs. 1B for Cirillo 1st and 3rd with two out. Corey Hart coming up.
  3. 4-2 Both teams have 6 hits. Walrond (lefty) is pitching for the cubs. Apparently he came over from Florida.
  4. Nice outing for Marshall. Good to see some of the kids trying to step into the #5 slot. That three good outings in a row for Gooz, Hill and Marshall. BeerBet: Gooz wins and starts the season in the #5 slot
  5. We sure are executing with men in scoring position and less then two outs this spring, be it hits, contact, or sac flys. How many runs did we leave on the bases in those situations last year? I think i counted one time in the middle of the season and we'd left like 13 runners on 3rd with less than 2 outs in just the prior week and a half....if we can do better at just that aspect of the game this year we'll be an improved team. I never counted but my recollection is that it happened a lot. Pat and Ron comment about it as well. It does seem much better this spring but it's still early.
  6. Where I go to do this Tim? I'm a proud premium subscriber and was just wondering where I could go to do such a thing...(or if I could make Goony's sig appear on all posts :D ) I just did it and it's worth it. Pages load much faster too.
  7. You're not drinking at work, are you ?? No....why? 8-[ :drunken:
  8. Probably Neifi. Might as well see if he can save the team from the mound too.
  9. did you say something? I was...er..distracted by a photo =P~ I don't mean to be hatin' Goony....but is the photo necessary? It means I can only skim your posts if I'm reading the board while I work. I don't want somebody to walk by my computer with a photo like that on the screen. Seconded. Great picture, but I post at work and it's a little dangerous. And spare me the lecture about posting at work. It's been a long winter for Cubs fans. Oh, and Go BU Braves!
  10. I think he went to the dugout after the 1st and read my post about grasping the opportunity. He settled down nicely. I good outing in my book.
  11. Looks like Guz is rolling a bit here. This is great to see. How's he look Bruce? Much better now. he got Hudson on a nice offspeed pitch. Much appreciated again Bruce. You are the man. Any word on velocity? Also, what's the deal with the DailyHerald requiring a log in to read your articles? For the security/privacy conscious like myself it's irritating to have to continuously come up with ways to cheat the system.
  12. Somebody has to want to be in this rotation. Right now it's Zambrano, Maddux and nobody is stepping up. Angel usually has better control. Completely agree. Hill, Guzman; seems like neither is aggressively going after it. Maybe trying to be too perfect, maybe a little off stuff-wise. Either way one of these two is likely to end up in the rotation for April.
  13. Wuertz has looked bad. It's making the Howry signing look even better. Last year, had Wuertz performed like that, I would have been worried. Now, with Dempster closing and Howry, Eyre, Williamson, and Ohman ahead of Wuertz in the pen, his role is not nearly as important. Wuertz's success is based more on location than the dominance of his "stuff." Pitchers like that tend to do more poorly early in ST, as they're working to reestablish their control and feel for the zone. I'll be worried if he isn't showing signs of improvement towards the end of ST. I'm hoping he'll be looking closer to normal in about another week or so. He had a great slider at the end of last year. I wonder if he's just struggling with his command.
  14. ??? I thought Sing was sent to minor league camp. Can he still play in ST games if that's the case?
