  1. I think you mean Miller. There's always a market for lefty's.
  2. Florida is 19-7 this spring. Conversely, the white sox are 8-19. :mamoru:
  3. I've actually posted on their site and asked them this same question and they all weren't high on him at all. They said at best he's a 5th outfielder. I tend to disagree, but who knows... It's easy to forget that this is just ST. Unless the kid is on roids or something... 8-[
  4. Houston put away the Dodgers with a 9 run 8th today.
  5. Why did the Mets just give up on Pagan? Did they have roster trouble? I seem to remember the cubs bought Pagan so I think he was released. was he waived and why didn't anyone else pick him up if that's the case?
  6. You forgot about Wade Miller, who I'm hoping with regain his form upon his return in late May. He could be a big boost to the rotation. That's true, and if Sean Marshall works out, then we will be in a very GOOD situation. . Zambrano, Wood, Miller, Maddux, Marshall. That's how I'm hoping it will work out right now. Because honestly the way Wood is progressing and the questions surrounding Prior I have more faith that Wood will come back and have a good year this year. Not so much Prior. If all works out we will finally have a good rotation this year! My point is there is more of a chance of it all working out THIS year because we GOT Miller, and we GOT a couple young guns showing some progress. This is exciting. . Prior is frustrating, but he still so young and the stuff is there. Take away the liner off the elbow last year and he was a stud.
  7. Agreed. Murton and Cedeno should get an excellent opportunity this year. I'm a little worried about Cedeno at this piont though. I'd hate to give Dusty any ammunition against the kid.
  8. Agreed. With some speed too so someone can run for Barrett late in games. Steal a base when it's needed. He and Pagan should give Dusty a great deal of flexibility late in games as well as insurance against injuries.
  9. By opening day for sure but I think they have some wiggleroom beforehand. Looks like Pagan made it, but what about Theriot? anyone know? Restovich K'd his way down to Iowa. I think The Riot is a shoe in along with Pagan. <====hopes both pan out
  10. I doubt the Cubs are in the mood to trade their young pitchers (Marshall, Hill and Guzman). Next season, Maddux and (potentially) Wood's spots in the rotation will be up for grabs. There may be other openings as well depending on what the Cubs plan to do with Rusch and Williams in the future. If the Cubs are out of it, I would trade Maddux, Williams and Wood at the deadline. Build around Z, Prior, and 2 of Marshall/Guzman/Hill. Sign a stud FA starter in the offseason (Zito?) if Miller doesn't pan out otherwise he's your #4.
  11. 9 with wade miller... Fer got em but the point is the same. At some point the team will either recognize the emerging abilities of Marshall/Hill/Guz and see what they can get for the others, or keep shuttling pitchers between Iowa and Chicago. Although given the injury history of scertain stud righ handers maybe that's a good option to have. When is it time to see what Wood/Prior can get on the open market, or do we simply see them walk in FA for nothing?
  12. Assuming that Wood and Prior are back by the all-star break, the Cubs will have 8 potential starters (Z, Maddux, Wood, Prior, Williams, Marshall, Guzman, Hill). There is always a market for starters at the break. If the Cubs are out of it, everyone except Z and Prior are available IMO. If they're in it, I would see what Hill, Guzman or Williams could get. And I could be easily swayed for Prior as well. We should be dealing with the Angels for some of their stud middle infield prospects.
  13. I'll one-up you. I'll do it if everyone pays 90% of my way :D Please.........I'll pay you guys to if I get to go. :^o
  14. I know you were kidding, but do you have a job that will allow you to do that? How friggin cool would that be?
  15. Why is it that the past two years the W.Sox have just about every game on Comcast? Has anyone figured that out yet? Because the Cubs have WGN as their base. Comcast is owned by a collection of teams/businesses including the Cubs/Tribune, the White Sox, and others. That still doens't make sense. The TRIB still has thier hand in the Comcast pot and why not spilt it 50/50 with the Sox and Cubs. I mean the Cubs get what 2-4 games and the Sox get 20 games? Doesn't make sense. Comcast wanted to show more Cubs ST games, IIRC, but was shot down by the Cubs. I really can't see why the Cubs would have such little desire to start getting their fandom warmed up for the season. If we're just talking about ST, I think the reason was financial because the Tribune company is experiencing some hardship. I don't know anything about the industry, but maybe they thought that the sox would get higher ratings (= higher revenues) from their ST games. Just a guess and again, I know nothing about broadcasting.

Huh? Where did you hear this?
  17. Just think where we'd be without Mr. Miles. Thank you, Bruce. My appreciation as well Bruce. Thank you.
  18. Again...no audio. Worst ST coverage ever. EVER!
  19. Hey! He went to Barrington High School! So he was a pampered rich kid? Har Har. Also, Barrington High School's district includes places like Carpentersville and Hoffman Estates so not everyone who attends that school is affluent. BeerHere attended Maine West
