  1. <---- sick of Gamecenter/Gamecast etc stalling
  2. Yet another reference to Barrett/AJP, great.
  3. When is Aramis going to start acting like a cleanup hitter and drive in some runs?
  4. I hope Marshall shuts em down but realistically, this doesn't look good on paper. Hopefully Marshall is sharp and the offense shows up. Otherwise its lambs to the slaughter.
  5. He replaces Womack on the roster. Correct? Williamson? Ok, I'm officially confused. Williamson called up to fill the roster spot left by Womack. Jerome Williams still in minors as far as I know. Williamson, my bad.
  6. Who was sent down when Williams was called up?
  7. Cause the only option after him is a rookie and Dusty is our manager.
  8. Gotta give props where they're due..... Nice job Jones. After a very slow start he's turned it around nicely. trade him
  9. Just joined.... Looks like Prior was wild?
  10. I makes me laugh when I see "4-3" in the lineup. Then I cry at our pathetic offseason.
  11. Do you have to give up your seat for viewing the current Cubs meltdown? I guess it does not matter...since it happens EVERY YEAR. When "things turn sour" (I guess that means them not winning.....status quo in Cubland) it wont matter. They won it all. It would be wise for Cub fans to ignore the South side for the forseeable future. They actually have a shot of becoming the baseball team in this town (if they arent already). I would have thought that an impossibility a few years ago. Its now a probability. Complaining about anything down there is going to be rightfully viewed as jealousy and sour grapes. Save your venom for the Cubs front office. They deserve it. Typical Sox fan. It doesn't matter what the Sox do to embarass themselves, Chicago or all of baseball (profanity, racism, cheating). As long as they have a world series win nothing matters, including class or professionalism. For the record, if my cubs team won the world series and proceeded to desecrate the honor, I'd find a new team that deserves my respect and admiration.
  12. I can't wait for the sox to return to their norm. First 75 win season and Ozzie has a fit costing himself his job and any shred of respect he has left at that point. I said it when he was hired, eventually the organization will deeply regret the fact that they put this idiot in a position of power. He's a complete tool and doesn't deserve the love that the sox fans heap upon him.
  13. Yes because he's a dreadful motivator.
  14. I forgot about this one. Apparently he feels that his team doesn't have "hitters". Or maybe the wind was always blowing in during the bottom half of innings.
  15. The Yankees and their fans can kiss my arse. Jeter is a punk and their fan base is a bunch of classless losers.
  16. I was thinking this morning about all of the excuses Dusty has thrown out over the past four years and think I have a pretty thorough list. Let me know if I've missed any: - You can't win without your horses (2005 referring to the multitude of injuries) - The team is too young (2006 referring to left, short and the rotation) - We don't have lefty to throw BP (2006 when answering why the team struggles against lefties) - Players from warm weather countries don't play well in cold weather (2004 referrnig to the offensive struggles early in the season) - Day games are harder to play because you have to get up early (2004 referring the team attempts to secure more night games) - Pitching injuries are difficult to diagnose (2005 referring to the ambiguity surrounding Prior's return from the DL) - Guys try to be overly-aggressive (2004 referring to the teams poor baserunning, specifically Moises Alou) - He saved us last year (2006 referring to his over use of Perez over better options) What makes the above more frustrating is that every team has to deal with most of these issues. Good teams (specifically good managers) find ways to win despite these issues. This is the critical aspect that Dusty just doesn't seem to understand. No accountability, no objective assessment, just pathetic excuses from a man that played the game and doesn't want to rock the boat or upset players. Simply awful.
  17. That kid should change his name to Max Effort Looks like a shoulder injury waiting to happen I'll pass and take the best impact bat in the draft plz.
  18. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prospects/news/261756.html My favorite: Nice kid.
  19. Dempy was throwing beach balls. Not just missing with the slider but catching waaaay to much plate with the FB. Looked a little rusty.
  20. I live in the burbs and my wife and I make it to 10-15 games per year. By far the best parking is at the DeVry campus on Addison. It's free and there's a shuttle to and from the park courtesy of the Cubs. Take the Kennedy and get off at Addison heading east. DeVry will be on the right (follow the signs). If memory serves, I think it's right after Racine (?). Either way just follow the signs for the DeVry Remote Lot.
  21. You could promote up to the big league team right now and he'd fit right in.
