  1. It is all about the money with Briggs. Where are his big plays last year? I cannot remember him making any big plays other than a 4th down stop against Seattle. The guy is good, but not as good as his agent tells him he is. He isn't Urlacher, not even close, but he thinks he should get as much money. Riiighhht. Make him sit out a year unless someone is willing to trade an arm and leg for him.
  2. the big 12 has never and will never be that good in basketball consistently.
  3. Just another reason to hate the crybaby cheater. I get the cheater refrence...but why is he a crybaby? When I was watching the Iowa vs. IU game last week he seemed to be whining excessively to the ref's. I know many coaches cry to the ref's, it just seemed excessive to me. Hence my new name for him the crybaby cheater. Ok, just curious. Nobody in the Big 10 matches Weber when it comes to whining on the sideline though. At least Weber isn't pulling for cancer. Sampson has sunk to a new low.
  4. Illinois cannot finish for the life of them this year.
  5. Since Illinois won the first game, I'd call it a push. not by a long shot, the ej thing would overshadow 8 consecutive sweeps. oh well, i should be used to my teams getting beaten without retribution by now. Will it make you feel better when Sampson has IU on probation in a couple years? he's done nothing wrong--but zook, somehow is the worst cheater in history because he got some great recruits to play for a talent-starved program. People are just afraid of Zook, especially Jabba the hutt over at south bend.
  6. right, brock was there all day. umm, okay? I wasn't talking about that play specifically, but just in general I don't get why in basketball sometimes the offensive player can essential body slam a defender who isn't playing aggressive D and end up at the FT line.
  7. i never understood why in basketball a a defender can be standing still and the offensive player can run into him and get a foul called...
  8. Brian Randle does some of the stupidest things I have ever seen.
  9. Is anyone planning on playing D in the second half of the ill-ind game?
  10. Well, that didn't take long. I really thought Kentucky fans whined and made excuses a lot, but since this EJ thing, Illinois fans are definitely giving them a run for their money. your right, they are calling white and pruitt exactly the same. Yeah, DJ definitely has not been touched. Can we at least save the ridiculous excuses until the game is over? Who said he hasn't been touched????

  12. good to see the refs aren't going to give the illini a chance to win today.
  13. It wasn't grossman's first year, but how hard is it to think for a few minutes and realize he has spent a lot of his first few years rehabbing. In other words not playing football. Its not that hard to figure stuff like this out people.
  14. Here's some of cheeseburger charlie's recruiting tactics from a south bend paper: In the case of Benn, Weis on Wednesday addressed the wide receiver's revealing to the Washington Post, his hometown newspaper, on Wednesday a text message and voice mail sent to him by former Notre Dame quarterbacks coach Peter Vaas, who had been involved with Benn's recruitment. " 'FYI, ILL is telling Robert Hughes that they will build their offense around him? Didn't they tell you that? Coach Vaas," Vaas wrote Benn on Dec. 17,' " the Post reported. The paper also reported that Vaas left a voice mail to Benn that said, "You don't want to do anything except bury your head in the sand. ... I guess you're not tough enough to compete at the big level." Last summer, Clemson tight end Jamie Cumbie had publicly accused ND assistant Rob Ianello of engaging in "negative recruiting" tactics, and Weis issued a statement essentially saying Cumbie was being less than truthful. He was similarly displeased with Benn's actions. "I think that he kind of put coach Vaas out to dry on that one," Weis said. "I'm going to side with coach Vaas on that one. Now are you asking me if coach Vaas sent him texts? Sure, he sent him texts. But you can probably go ask the kid if he committed to us beforehand, too, and see what he says to that one.
  15. Alot of the so-called power elite of NCAA football are steaming over Illinois. What's their deal? A new program pulls an old, tradition-rich school out of the doldrums after many, many years of incompetence. That's the very definition of U of M, ND, Miami, FSU ---- all these schools did the very same thing. At one point or another, nearly every school was terrible Everyone criticizing Zook and the Illini are just bitter and nervous about Illinois becoming another program to compete with. Teams like Iowa and ND won't be getting nearly as many Chicago recruits from now on...great to see
  16. Weis is the lowest form of scum. He calls out a recruit by name for decommitting on national TV. Then he turns around and tries to get every recruit in sight to decommit. "And I think one of the things we're going to make sure we do differently than we've done in the past is that when a guy wants to say yes to us, there's a clear understanding from everyone that they're not going to go visit anywhere else. They're not going to talk to anyone else. They're either committed to us, or you're not." If Weis actually believes in what hes saying, hes a huge hypocrite as well as someone who won't be getting very many good recruits anymore. Have fun being blown out by USC for the next 10 year Charlie.
  17. Why wouldn't he develop?
  18. illinois has a great class, with some of the top players in the nation coming in.
  19. Eli has a MUCH superior offense around him. GMAFB. He also has more experience. He has one of the best tightends, one of the best RBs, and a great WR. The bears have at best an average collection of skill players on offense. Really, I think that might have more influence than how good his D is
  20. the bears need to draft a safety. you can't rely on mike brown being healthy. Rex is as good as any other option, unless the bears are willing to go after Schaub
  21. I know that's going to be the official accepted story, but I refuse to believe that to be true. A 70+ completion percentage, a 68.3 rating. That's not taking a dump. That's not disaster Rex. That's better than what Roethlisberger did while winning last year's Super Bowl and he doesn't face anywhere near the scrutiny Grossman does. Rex did not have a good game, but he did not crap the bed either. rex wasnt that bad. he only made 1 bad pass really, the int to muhammad. the second INT came late in the 4th down by two TDs. Berrian was open but he underthrew him, but at that point he was just trying to make something happen to spark an unlikely comeback. He wasn't great, but he wasn't horrible. Unfortunately too many bears fans are blind to the fact that defense couldn't get off the field if their life depended on it as a main reason for losing. All year people blame rex and refuse to ever blame the D. Well the D was about as good/bad as rex in the super bowl. I mean the criticism of rex has really gotten out of hand. I hear people saying he threw so many bad balls....well he only threw 8 incompletions, a couple of which were drops. If you are going to criticize him at least do it for something that he actually did wrong (bad exchanges with kreutz, ints)
  22. They're the best team in the world. No, they're the winner of the SB, not the best team in football, much less the best team in the world. If that game is played on grass, Bears win. That may sound like sour grapes, but it's true. How about we actually have the SB in football conditions instead of a vacation destination. The Bear's were simply out of their league. The Colts didn't play their best football, and still beat the Bears, the Bears would have lost to NE, SD, Bal, or Indy. SIMPLE. sweet, i love when random people repeat what they hear on espn on the internet and act like its a unique thought
  23. props to rex for calling out reporters. he has a higher qb rating than peyton in the playoffs, but he will still get ripped no matter what he does apparantly
  24. While I can easily understand what they're trying to get at, that kinda made me cringe. thats pretty horrible by espn. I think most people miss MLK's message entirely
  25. i dont get it. tank didnt really do anything terribly wrong, but the media acts like he killed someone. and he probably has a point about race being a factor.....lets not kid ourselves, law enforcement officers treat african americans a lot different than your average white....especially african americans with the "ghetto" image like tank.
