    I saw Johan Santana strike out 17 at the Metrodome against the Rangers back in 2007. Sammy had two hits for the Rangers that day, I think. Now that I look it up, Sammy had the only two hits for the Rangers.

Second, those ratings aren't surprising at all and aren't really ever likely to change unless a transcendent (Tiger, MJ) player comes along in the right market and has the right appeal. And even then, there are too many barriers to most kids playing hockey as young kids.

    How did "Arizona" get on national TV? It still pisses me off they kept that team. Also, I heard today for the first time that the AHL trophy for Executive of the Year is the James Hendry Memorial Award. No b.s. I think I also heard their Coach of the Year trophy is named after Alpo Suhonen.

    I guess this is a couple days old, but Kevin Dineen is replacing Kompon as Assistant Coach. Can't hurt bringing in a guy with head coaching experience. He did okay in Florida.
