  1. So is it in the Astros' interest to announce, say, a game in Milwaukee tomorrow as late as possible so that the place isn't full of Cub fans? And on that note, if the game was announced late tonight, how many do you think would show at Miller Park tomorrow night? I'd put it at 15,000 or so. Probably fill the lower level.
  2. here's the deal, Astros: no matter where you play, it will be a Cubs home game. Cubs fans will show up in droves to any stadium you decide to have this series. so suck it up and play They must realize this. I am absolutely stunned at this incompetence.
  3. LOL at Brewers. Done in third, 5-0. And the Cubs are supposed to be the choke artists...
  4. I think this is about the sixth time I've said this in this thread, but this is so stupid. The Astros website is pushing that MMP "may" be ready for baseball tomorrow. Shutup. Nothing but posturing. We're getting hosed here...
  5. If Brewer fans came to the games, I have to think they would be rooting for the Cubs these days.
  6. http://houston.astros.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080912&content_id=3463897&vkey=news_hou&fext=.jsp&c_id=hou This is so effing stupid, but it sounds like there will be a decision made by midday today. Then the question is whether the 'Stros could get to Milwaukee.
  7. Yeah they are doing it again. It was funny last year. Actually, it's still funny.
  8. Was she on the Chinese olympic team? :stickman:
  9. Mariotti is a blowhard, the kind of guy whose goal is shock value rather than journalistic excellence. His colleagues see that, and that's why they despise him.
  10. At least some of us have Bears (or football in general).... you don't even like that. Sucks  I was going to go to a bar on Sunday to find the Bears game. If the Cubs play a DH I'll probably scrap that.
  11. Last I heard was single game Sunday and DH Monday. Looking at the weather report I think they're smoking something. And as far as neutral sites, how are the Astros going to get out Saturday? What a mess. It is. Shame on McLane.
  12. sarcasm? Lopez is garbage and should keep his mouth shut, but don't be fooled by '07 Lilly. His '08 numbers are much more indicative of what kind of pitcher he is. Lilly's a good pitcher, but I think he was referring to the fact that theodore likes to wear human skin as a blanket
  13. The first-base side camera shot of the crowd in Florida as D-Ward cracked his bomb.
  14. What a punk. Doesn't he know what Lilly is capable of?
  15. I guess you have to go for work and all. I remember being offered Sox tickets for free on multiple occasions when I lived at home. The answer was always, "no thanks, I'd rather watch the Cubs on tv." Of course, the answer could have just as easily been, "no thanks, I'm going to stay home and poke myself in the eye with a sharp stick." Go Cole...and go Tigers!

  17. Gotta like Philly in this one, with Hamels against Parra. Have we had more than a 6 or 6.5 game lead this season? I seem to remember 6.5 for a day or two. Sure would be nice to be sitting on a six game lead at the end of the night.
  18. That's the moral of this story.
  19. In a close game, I never turn on the radio during the game if I haven't already been listening. It's bad mojo to shift things like that. In close games (especially the 9th) I usually turn the TV off or turn the channel and peek on the progress of the inning on my laptop or pace all over the house. My Wife thinks I'm crazy..... In the 9th last night I got up and paced around the living room like I haven't since last October. This is going to be fun...
  20. Yeah, they need to get at least one of these games in. I don't care where. If the hurricane passes through and Houston is in bad shape, then move the games elsewhere for Sunday and Monday and get on with it.
  21. This will be a complete and totally awesome day for us if Harden turns out to have no problems.
  22. You don't walk him here. You can't put the winning run on 2nd.
