  1. Blues fans and media have been talking about Shanahan for awhile now. But if the Hawks are involved, there's no way that happens. It would be a great move for the Hawks if they can afford it. But one other thing: I heard a bit on 670 today saying "forget about Khabi to NJ." Do we know why that's off the table?
  2. So, it's gonna be like a Cubs game? I kid.
  3. Can you only imagine how good they'll be when Toews and Havlat decide to start playing? EDIT: Oh yea, and Wisniewski is back? Havlat more than Toews needs to pick it up. Toews is constantly in the middle of things. The only problem I have with him is a lack of determination when he has the puck. He just doesn't seem as forceful as he did last year. Wiz will be a big help.
  4. That 3rd period was a thing of beauty, especially that nearly two-minute stretch where they held the puck in Colorado's zone and peppered shots at Budaj. I didn't see a weakness out there, outside of the occasional stupid play by Sopel. I'm warming up to him, but he still has his moments. If this is what we're going to get under Coach Q, I'm very happy I subscribed to Center Ice this year. But, for the guy who mentioned having a playoff series against Detroit, let's just hope it's not the first series. Cuz that would mean we're the 7th or 8th seed. Not to get greedy, but I'd like to see them a bit higher up than that.
  5. The Bears need to commit to running the ball and run quick passing routes. Don't give Grossman time to do anything stupid or start dancing around in the pocket. That said, Turner will probably have him roll out on every down.
  6. P.S., I almost lost because I started Schaub over Eli. Never again.
  7. What would the major flaw be? I noticed him stepping up in the pocket and didn't see him make any bad decisions, which are the two biggest knocks on him. The other major knock being his height/mobility. Not sure he can do anything about those. Now, I'm not saying I believe he has eliminated either of those problems, but I didn't see him do either of those things today so I'm just trying to see what it appears that he hasn't corrected.... *shrug* If anything, it was his biggest strength which was a no-show in today's game (downfield accuracy). Yes, I was talking about his happy feet and lack of calm and patience in the pocket. There were several awful throws downfield today. At the feet of receivers, overthrows. Things that can be traced back to the same bad mechanics. I'll say it again: I've always been a fan of Rex and liked his ceiling better than Orton's. I might actually be able to dust off the Grossman jersey for the St. Louis game in a couple of weeks. Last time I did that the Bears were riding high on MNF two years ago. I hope it was just rust today. Against a better team a lot of those throws will be interceptions.
  8. Hopefully Rex will look a lot better next week. I mean, I'm happy with his performance under the circumstances but it is striking that he appears not to have corrected the major flaw that lost him his job in the first place. Glad next week is a home game. And the Titans certainly appear beatable, but man. I'm afraid of Chris Johnson and Lendale White.
  9. Packers lose in OT. Awesome day!
  10. It's never easy. Wow. This was a painful W. Hopefully Orton is okay.
  11. Ton of space underneath. Terrible.
  12. Seriously. What a stupid-assed play call. They needed four yards. Not one yard. Ron Turner. FAIL!
  13. They may still get the ball back here, albeit with no timeouts.
  14. Ooooohhh Bironas missed GW kick at end vs. Pack.
  15. What a stick! Yes! Defense! Love it!
  16. He hasn't been great. The one mistake he had was taken care of by the defense. But I'll give him some of the credit.
  17. Fire it up D! Big play here.
  18. They were, then false start, then five-yard McKie run. 2nd and goal.
  19. Run it four times here. Well, three times. But no b.s. I think the Lions called that TO to give Turner time to get cute and call a pass for Rex.
  20. Yesplease. RUN THE BALL!
  21. Forte lookin' puuuuurttty.
  22. Horse collar is a stupid penalty. But how could they not call it there? Okay, okay, they are. Good.
  23. Yikes. Is it the Super Bowl again? I mean, without awesome Hester?
